Nordic Games Saves Intergalactic IPs and Acquires the Imperium Galactica and Other Franchises

The classic game IP imperium is on the brink of collapse, especially when it comes to preserving franchises which left their mark in video games history. In these dire times, a young and promising alliance from the distant planet of Scandinavia (solar system Europe) holds the future of many of said IPs, which are threatened by the fate of being lost and forgotten, and thus, proved themselves worthy of protection.

After some life-sustaining measures, said alliance, also known as Nordic Games Licensing AB with its base of operations Karlstad, Sweden, managed to acquire and preserve the following list of IPs:

Bang Bang Racing PC, XBL, PSN, Android

Black Knight Sword XBL, PSN

Skydrift PC, XBL, PSN

Sine Mora PC, XBL, PSN, PSVita, iOS, Android

Imperium Galactica PC

Imperium Galactica II PC, iOS, Android

Liberty Wings iOS

Ubrain iOS

Scarabeus: Pearls of Nile iOS

The alliance places their trust in the brave warriors of the Nordic Games GmbH, in their colony of Vienna, Austria, to take control of the IPs and to handle the day-to-day business (sales and distribution, evaluation of sequels & new content etc.).

Oooh I'd love for Black Knight Sword to get a re-release.
Well on Steam personally, but hopefully it can fin more exposure on current systems as well.

Have nordic put out anything from the IPs they aquire, or are they still just happy to rerelease the games and enjoy the small but sustained income?

They do a fair bit with niche IPs, Spellforce 3, The Guild 3 and Aquanox Deep Descent come to mind. I imagine they'd do something with Imperium Galactica especially if other space strategy games are a success, as it fits their MO. The rest probably not.

Wait, Spellforce 2 got a sequel? Wow, that reminds me that I should go back to 2 and its expansions, really fun blend of RPG/RTS, like WC3 but deeper. Amazing soundtracks as well.

Getting a sequal, still a while until release but it looks fantastic visually. A massive step up from the second.

That's aces, really fun games too. That does look really good. Shame EA bought and killed the original studio. Though Grimlore is based in Germany as well and formed the same year EA killed Phenomic, might be some developer overlap, I hope.

Edit: I was wrong, half the studio went and made a studio which focuses on F2P games, what a shame. Best of luck to Grimlore though, as said, the screenshots look great, so I'm staying positive

The original Imperium Galactica was really a flawed masterpiece. The late-game was tedious and felt unfinished, and the tactical stuff could be better, but the overall game and its feel was amazing, and it had so much content that wasnt really used for much. Even the story was pretty original. Great game for sure. Hope they rerelease them so I can finally play the sequel!
