Retroactively redeem a free game from your AMD GPU/CPU

No go for my old R9 270, says my hardware hasn't been validated before and to check back in up to 48h.

It could have something to do with drivers. I had replaced it a couple weeks ago and put it back just to run the verification, without reinstalling Catalyst.

Just a tip for whoever does this: If you're thinking of choosing Sid Meyer's Civ Beyond Earth, don't. Get Napoleon Total War instead.

The authentication program fails to identify my FX8320. Gonna try with my 6300 and see if that does any good.

Yeah, it couldn't identify my 8320 either.

I was authenticated with my 390, but no menu to select a game came up - just a generic customer service complaint webpage that AMD's email linked me to. What did I do wrong?

Eligible Systems: To receive the Key Code for an Application, you must purchase an Eligible System during the Campaign Period.
Eligible Systems consists of a computer system manufactured and branded by one of the Participating OEM Vendors and System
Builders (listed below) and containing one or more of the Eligible AMD Products (listed below).

Apparently you need to have purchased a pre-built system from a qualifying vendor that has the qualifying hardware.

Not sure how people are getting this to work otherwise, but congrats to them as it seems like a bug.

Program tells me my product couldn't be identified (???) and to submit proof of purchase which I can't do cause my computer was prebuilt. No prompt to verify my GPU thought.

Wah wah

The verification program errors when I run it. Hmmm.

EDIT: Nevermind I had an old version of it on my PC, uninstalled that and this one works.

Anything like this for Nvidia?
A few weeks ago Asus let anyone redeem codes for Arkham Knight and Rise of the Tomb Raider using their Serial No and PPID found on their video card, no receipt required. I bought my card in December which was way past the promotion period for Arkham Knight and before Rise of the Tomb Raider promotion started.

Shame it's a crappy game. If you don't have it Napoleon Total War is the better choice.

I know Beyond Earth isn't terribly well received and i know it will not compare well to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, but i know i will find it more interesting than the Total War series.

Thanks for the heads up, OP!

Hmm, which game should I choose. Either I already have the ones I'd normally be interested in, or I'm not interested in them, except for Total War Napoleon or Civilization Beyond Earth... Which one would GAF recommend? This would be my first RTS, but it's a genre I've always wanted to try. I'm leaning towards Napoleon..

That, and it says promo is only supposed to be for systems purchased "during the campaign period", that is, starting 4 days ago, though I don't know how they'd verify that?

Beyond earth is a turn based strategy game, Total war is a hybrid(The map where you build up units is turn based, battles are real time). But given the choice Napoleon: Total War easily. Beyond Earth is one of the worst Civ games ever released(Civ Rev is worse mind you), Napoleon: Total war, while inferior to Empire Total War, has awesome naval combat and great infantry combat.

Best of luck, anyway.

Clear as day, thanks!

Looks like you have to have a CPU and GPU on the list. Got nothing for my 270x, no Batman for me. :(

Hm, that's weird. Could it be possible you've already activated it before, maybe another promotion? My GPU (280X) is the only AMD component I have and I had no trouble choosing a game.

All my AMD parts are too old for this promotion, but this seems to be like some system builder promo without any checks in place.

Also, this game selection is just odd, is AMD just dumping old keys they found in a dusty box? (except for DiRT Rally)

Campaign overview:
This Campaign is open to purchasers of Eligible Systems containing Eligible AMD Products which are purchased during the Campaign Period

Man I feel like a dumb ass now for submitting a ticket and not reading this thoroughly. No wonder the application didn't find my 8350 or 390x.
