So if Trump were to win...

What can it actually mean politically, globally etc. What do you guys think can actually happen.I know it's a great fear for most of us but what exactly do we fear? The guy seems so insane I can't see anyone supporting him or his ridiculous proposals. Thoughts?

Hard to say, trump doesnt actually believe anything that he's saying, he's just pandering to the extreme right.

The guy was a democrat not that long ago. I have no idea what he would do if elected. It was be humiliating at the very least.

He'd probably emboldened the right wing parties in Europe. Well, even more than they've already been and we'd accelerate the lurch to the right for the next couple of decades.

Ultimately, it would be dark days ahead for minorities.

He would be a centrist president that would do none of the outrageous rubbish he's been blabbering about because he's just using the latent anger of the republican demographics to prop himself up.

He was all in for Romney, and the preeminent birther, so I don't really think that democrat label actually matters anymore.

He'll defy expectations and end up being the best president of all time.

No worse than Bush. People act like Armageddon will happen. Trump is not an idiot.

He's just a big airbag. Just like any other president, he won't have much power in directing change. Largely depends how much of Congress has his back.

He obviously won't be the 'counterbalance' that Obama currently is either, so government will 'feel' more authoritative.

As an influencer on the world stage, however, and, *gulp* commander-in-chief, his presence outside the US will be genuinely terrifying to behold.

I don't think that's really true.

He'll want two terms, as most presidents do and by abandoning all the promises he's been making, he'd risk alienating the core that got him to the White House.

Ultimately he would probably be more left leaning then most of Gaf give him credit. I mean even today on some Sunday political show he openly stated one of the big issues with the republican party is they oppose a national health system.

Trump is the definition of a RINO. Problem is he is using a very dangerous manipulation to gain his popularity. Such dangerous paths can have serious repercussions even if he turns out to be a very moderate to left leaning person

Lol nothing would even happen. He's the president, not a dictator. At worst a bunch of outrageous bills get rejected and maybe 1 or 2 get passed. People act like he'd actually be able to do any of the crazy crap he talks about.

I honestly think he'd piss off Democrats and Republicans equally and that would probably be a great thing for the country.

Which ones specifically?

I wonder if Trump could become an instant lame duck president if he got in. What are the chances that congress and the senate isolate him, striking down as much policy as they can? I don't get the impression that traditional democrats or republicans are terribly keen on him, so if they decide not to work with the guy would it mitigate a fair amount of the potential damage he could cause?

honestly nothing

The way congress is , primaries etc government and now that social media is a powerhouse

etc maybe the tone which people (here) don't like ... then comes the hyperbole and leaving the country whining

he'd be a giant puppet for whatever the government is at the time

in fact, he'd be so clueless his aides would feed him all sorts of conflicting and confusing speeches to spout just so they could take bets on the side

he'd resign 3 months in

Regardless of whether or not he believes any of the shit he says, I just don't see him as a competent administrator or "deal-maker". He's not a great businessman. He's not a politician. He shouldn't be running for office.

Every black person in America would jump ship to Canada. I guess it wouldn't be too bad partying with my boy Drizzy over in Toronto.

I half-expect him to just decline his victory and tell the American people what a bunch of gullible morons they are.
In that case the House of Representatives would get to pick the president. Congratulations President Cruz
