1) No idea what's going on with Xbox Live Arcade across these next two weeks, but I'll update the list once we find out.

2) The DVD-ROM version of Company of Heroes shipped last week, it's just the CD-ROM iteration going out this week.

3) Buy Rocket Slime, even if you have no interest in Dragon Quest. Yes, it's seriously that good. Though short-lived (~10 hours or so), the translation is incredibly charming and the gameplay much fun. Think Zelda with giant tank battles.

Okami, Valkyrie Profile II: Silmeria. Won't be next week, but i definitely want to get around to Rocket Slime and MarioVsDK2.

I wasn't planning on getting Okami this week, but I just played the demo. This game is too great and beautiful to pass up! :(

Shit, Valkyrie Profile 2 and Baten Kaitos Origins comes out the week after?! ;_;

Buying Pokemon Dungeon Blue and Fire Red. I'll rent Okami to see if its any good, or if it is another victim of GAFHYPE.

The Sierra collections shipped REALLY early. I've had them since Friday and they shipped on Thursday from Amazon.

You left off Just Cause 360 for next week.
Odd, I must've somehow removed that and Import Tuner Challenge as I moved the list over from Notepad. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll check the rest and make sure nothing else is missing.

EDIT: Alright, we should be good now.

This is just a ridiculously good week for releases (the holiday rush hasn't started yet). I'm looking to buy Okami, VP2, Baten Kaitos Orgins, Rocket Slime, maybe one of those pokemon games, and probably one of those classic sierra adventure game collections.

VP Silmeria and Okami for me. Square-Enix fanboy in me wants to buy Rocket Slime but i'm afraid it may be a victim of GAFoverhypeitis. Plus I'm tired of shelling out 30 plus bucks for quick beat them in a day portable games.

Okami, VP, and DoS for me.

And maybe the 360 version of Samurai Warriors 2, just because I've never played a Dynasty/Samurai Warriors title before, ever.

Any impressions of Rocket Slime over than the two reviews on Gamerankings, maybe from gafers? I'm interested, but don't know exactly what to expect.

Just a little warning to those considering picking up Pokemon Mystery Dungeon... it's not a typical Pokemon RPG. It's more of a dungeon hack.

In fact, it's actually the latest in a long line of dull, tedious dungeon hacks developed by Chunsoft. You may have even played it before, when it was called Chocobo's Dungeon 2 or Torneko: The Last Hope (both for PS1). Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is mostly the same, except with Pokemon nuances.

Check out the reviews on GameRankings for either of those two and you should get a good idea of how the reviews for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon will turn out (in theory).

You'll probably have to wait a few days until everyone gets their copies, I'm sure people are getting tired of me praising Rocket Slime to no end, but here's a thread of previews and impressions, including a brief, yet reassuring, Bebpo appearance. The only downsides are that 1) the game is kinda short (~10 hours) and 2) there's only one save slot on the cartride.

I'm fine with it being only 10 hours - there's far too much stuff coming out lately for me to put much more in to a game.

I'll just wait for some reviews and impressions, but I'll probably pick it up. Still playing last week's releases though :(

These are probably mine, though I do have to be honest and admit that none of them are guarantees.
BKO is the most probable, but is actually less a buy because I want it (love the news about more sidequests, but don't like the characters or what they did to the battle system) than because I want to, in purchasing it, say, "Yes, I want Baten Kaitos DS, give it to me now because there's no such thing as a system more perfect for BK and its card-based battle system than the DS." For that matter, they could probably still do prerendered town/dungeon backgrounds if they wanted, though maybe not as many animated ones.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is part because it's $23.99 at Circuit City (and thus $18.99 at Best Buy with gift card), part because it's Pokemon, and part because I'd like to see if this series of spinoffs has more potential than most Mysterious Dungeon games. Rocket Slime is pretty much in the same boat, except Dragon Quest monsters instead of Pokemon... and for some dumb reason it's $35 instead of $30. (No Fry's near enough to justify a drive down there.)
And finally, I'm interested in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 predominantly because I hear it's like Lemmings except with a level creator. We'll see how true that ends up being when the reviews roll in.

Can GAF help me decide? Pokemon Firered or Mystery Dungeon Blue?
Not at all bashing Mystery Dungeon Blue, but Fire Red is proven quality, it'll interact with D/P if you ever get those (as opposed to the Mystery Dungeons just interacting, and not much at that based on what I've read, with their GBA/DS counterparts), and it's the best Pokemon game if judging by the single-player alone.

I remember getting a Space Quest collection about 10 years ago, and, as it was the nature of the time, it was packaged in a giant cardboard box. The box (with a fold up lid) looked like it contained the original cardboard boxes of the previous games; inside, in fact, was one CD jewel box containing all the games on two cd-roms and a lot of empty unused space.

Fortunately packaging has improved in 10 years.

What day do games arrive in stores in the U.S.?
EB Games, GameStop, Fry's and other speciality retailers usually get a game the day after it ships, so they usually have them Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, it usually takes another day or two for the game to arrive at the likes of Best Buy and Circuit City.

Holy hell. They didn't get any games at our store AGAIN. This is the third or fourth week in a row this has happened. It's ****ing crazy.
