Testimonials
NeoGAF's Fantastapotamus: "I remember playing the Wii game and thinking "this is okay""
NeoGAF's heringer: "The first one is a little too basic but the sequel is good stuff."
NeoGAF's parsnip: "I had never heard of these games"
NeoGAF's OVDRobo: "They seemed like decent enough platformers, but not particularly compelling."
NeoGAF's Marrow: "I remember feeling really... indifferent after the second game."
NeoGAF's echoshifting: "I played both of these on iOS and found them pretty okay"

Appears to be ported from the iOS release.

Good to hear, like after WiiWare. Wayforward should bring over Lit.

They just recently released a loose remake of LIT on the iOS App Store. I'm not sure if they'd consider bringing over either or both to PC, but if you did want a future-proof device to play it, you at least have an option!

Sweet, thanks for the tips!

I bought both of these games on the Wii. Played through the intro of the first one and never returned for some reason.

They seemed like decent enough platformers, but not particularly compelling.

I remember feeling really... indifferent after the second game. They never felt planned in terms of story and it just sorta ends. There's a very unfinished feel looming over the games.

I've always had my eye on these games and for some reason, I never picked them up. Might give them a try now. I seem to remember when the original came out, 2D platformers were more novel than they are now.

I played these both at their respective launches. I know I beat the first one and pretty sure I beat the second one. Enjoyed 'em both a lot. Easy, breezy Metroidvanias. Very relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely pick these up again at some point.

I beat the first game and missed one of whatever baubles you can collect (I want to say cat statue?) and that really upset me.

I remember the first one being kind of interesting but I don't think I ever played the 2nd.
Were they $10 on WiiWare as well?

I liked the first game a lot! It... was like the second WiiWare game I played. After that bubble popping one. There's a second LostWinds? Eh, I'll buy it, whatever.

That came out of nowhere! Both games are great. Very beautiful and serene atmosphere and some inventive platforming and puzzles which made great use out of the pointer controls.

I liked these games, they're not the most exciting thing in the world but they had a lovely art style and some neat puzzles. Wish they made a third one, if I remember right there were some hints to a deeper mythology scattered throughout the gaems.

Lost Winds was the first time I felt like I was playing a "full game" available digitally despite the length. Probably, ironically, partially because it wasn't weighed down by all that required XBLA crap that wasn't inherently necessary for every game like leader boards.

So how easy puzzle platforming are we talking about anyway?

I wouldn't say it's completely braindead. There are often times where you have to combine a few different mechanics together in order to solve a puzzle or progress through an area. The games are a bit Metroid-y in that the map is open-ended and you have to backtrack after acquiring new powers to reach previously inaccessible areas. The sequel upped the ante a bit with a season changing mechanic in which you could only progress either by swimming through water in the summer or freezing it and crossing the ice in winter. Though I don't think this mechanic was exploited as much as it could have been, IIRC.

Played the first one and it was a slow and relaxing game with a good art style but it was kinda based around the wiimote. It is going to be pretty lame with just standard controls.

I only played the first game, it was... decent at best. Very forgettable, hardly remember anything about it

Holy crap, I forgot all about this game. Super enjoyable and if I'm not mistaken, the very first 'eShop' game I ever bought on my Wii.

Loved the game but I don't know how this'll play without the Wiimote.

started the first game, got "pretty far", read that it's supposed to be a VERY short game with an abrupt ending and for some reason I also just stopped playing the game... Maybe I'll finish it before I die. Theres probably like 10 minutes of game play left

This reminds me that I never tried LostWinds 2, even after enjoying the first one on WiiWare.

I'd recommend LostWinds at least. A relaxing platformer with a few challenging parts here and there. I honestly liked pointing with the Wiimote but I bet a mouse works fine too.

Absolutely adore these games, some real standouts on Wiiware (and there are a ton, despite popular opinion). The controls were really great, wonder how good a job M+K (or regular controller?) can emulate them. Also wonder how good the HD conversion is. Will buy and find out!
