Final Fantasy XV Story Cinematics - E3 2016
From the first chapter, with english voice acting. Not sure if Ardyn is great or really bad.

Final Fantasy XV: Hajime Tabata on Design Approach
Contains plenty of gameplay, but no game audio and with Tabata/Gavin talking over it.

Mechs, Knights, and More! - Final Fantasy XV Combat

Hope it was okay too make a new thread about it, seems substantial enough

English cast is fine but Noctis is definitely the weak link. I think I prefer batman voice to this.

Why did they turn off the music? That's a pretty dumb move for a game in which the music is its strongest point.

Also, Prompto's voice just makes me imagine Sorey from Tales of Zestiria all the time (same VA). I can't get over it, so I guess that's another reason to play in Japanese, beside the shoddy voice work.

Welp everything looks great again...friggen microsoft demo...

I like the character interactions. Seems natural

And the English story cutscenes were all I wanted to see at E3. Glad to see Enix delivered.

I still gotta get used to Noctis' voice, but I like the banter between the characters.

It's really nice to see an English cutscene. Cindy's and Prompto's English VO are still great. I think I like Ardyn? Not sure what to think of the voice tone change with Noctis, and Gladio is still extremely stilted. I still can't figure out if Ignis is Gideon Emery, or someone doing a Gideon Emery imitation. I also didn't think Square reused the English voice-actors, which is unfortunate, so maybe the latter?

...my deep dark secret is that I quite liked Noctis' Batman voice, and am a bit sorry to see it go. Noctis is no longer vengeance, Noctis is no longer the night-!

Is Ardyn's VA the same one as in Kingsglaive? Noctis, Gladio and Ignis are all hit and miss. While Prompto and Cindy are well done imo.

Man that cutscene with Ardyn, it's hard to even tell exactly what they're talking about. Would it kill them to just translate without making everything sound flowery?

Are they not even going to attempt to synch up lip flaps? The dialog feels disconnected from the characters, and what's his faces British accent still makes no sense. Usually I prefer English dubs when playing, but this doesn't sound good and it's actually distracting.

Edit: Nevermind, it's just the first scene that's really screwed up and off synch. Still sounds weirdly off, bad stage directionality or something.

Ardyn doesn't sound nearly as playful as his jpn VA. :/ Torn between which language to listen to, because I like certain VAs in both languages. Prompto is a pain to listen to in jpn audio though, while Gladio sounds boring in eng.

Sometimes I get confused because Noctis and Gladio sound alike to me. Especially when Noctis had the Batman voice. =/

Nothing wrong with liking it, though. I would've as well if it weren't for that confusion.

But yeah, I like Prompto and Cindy's VO the best as well. I'm from the south, so I appreciate Cindy's accent.

The animation is some of the best I've ever seen and those are some good cutscenes for sure. English-speaking Prompto is not grating at all even if he was a bit in Japanese, so that's good.

Shame about the rough Titan demo, but most of this stuff has been the opposite of rough.

Edit: Noctis is still Batman, good.

Overexaggerated anime archetypes like Prompto do not translate well to english without grating the nerves. I hope japanese VA is downloadable or something.

Have they said anything about English lip-syncing? Shit's bad. What about dual audio, is that confirmed?

You can at least turn off the voices in the audio options. That's what i'll be doing if no JP dub.

I think VA is fine, but the lip sync gets very weird sometimes.

Yeah, looks like it's not completely finished yet, like some of the lip syncing is still set to Japanese. Hopefully they iron this out because it is an immersion breaker.

However, the voice acting in general is better than I thought it'd be.

Also, weird that the cinematics trailer is without music. Feels weird.

I've seen that footage used elsewhere. If I had to wager it all comes from the same B-roll, recorded with no music but with SFX so that it can be edited for other uses and have the SFX intact.

Noctis' facial animation looks especially bad, still. One of the few things in FFXV even I am pessimistic about. The facial capturing/animation tech they use just isn't good. Every emotional scene with Noctis looked super off and uncanny so far.

If possible I'm always using Japanese voices (voice acting is an art over there) but the English ones seem to be okay and have improved a bit. Most of all Noctis. I'm glad he doesn't sound like Batman anymore. Has the voice actor changed completely or is the actor just speaking in a higher pitch? ;)

I don't understand the logic in removing the music from the story cinematic video. The cutscenes felt completely off due to that.

The voice acting in general was good. Much better than what I expected. The lip syncing also looked slightly off but I'm sure that can be remedied.
