What would make No Man's Sky better for you?

Yes it's another No Man's Sky thread, but I'm hoping this one will invoke a different type of discussion.

Anyway to those that own the game, have played it, or are on the fence, what (realistic) improvements could Hello Games implement in a patch that would make the game better for you?

In before "Let me meet other people" as that clearly won't improve the game in a significant way.

An earlier PC release

I haven't gotten to buy it yet but it seems cool for what it is.

I'd love some world building and Clan creation stuff though.

I've never played it, but what would get me to buy it was if I knew what I'm supposed to do, if it's only about space exploration and looking at pretty things created or discovered by people, than I would like for it to have boss fights and an ultimate purpose for the avatar I created.

PS4 screenshot mode that quickly hides the UI.

(I know the left D-pad button is the UI hiding button but it only removes the health bars and things. There's still other stuff left on there like waypoint icons.)

Like if another Dev from Sony stepped in to help, obv these guys can't sustain a game like this if they don't even know if mp can work or not. They need help from people who can.

Also for mp to work, it's 2016 and there's online games being played this should be one of them

Multiple biomes per planet. Even just temperature variations, like dry areas or polar ice caps. I know they didn't do that because they wanted to encourage planet hopping, but personally I want to explore individual planets more and find varied and interesting scenery, not the same biome everywhere.

A tank, or a motor cicle to travel on road, and infinite space for materials/slots in the inventory.

And been able to remap buttons, specially in remote play in vita

It needs more building types and interiors, more alien types too.
Also have the animals body parts ratios be more natural, watching a t-Rex with tiny chicken legs just looks stupid.

Bigger inventory and everything stack.
Gravity on object (why stone you dig still float when you destroy the base)
Evolued life (can live in small group, carnivorous hunt etc...)
More varieties of elements, depending in which planet you are (but your technologies could use different elements to craft)

Pirate planet bases, military installations etc. Maybe an information broker who gives out missions to find interesting and extremely valuable loot. There's so much they can do to expand on the base they've created.

Multiplayer, base building and a smaller universe where players would be more likely to cross paths would be nice too. Instanced so there's limited players crossing paths but would be cool.

Bosses/scenarios on land and space that give a greater challenge. Something to want to build up your gear and ship for.

There's just so many things that could be done.

For starters?

3rd person mode
Multiplayer Co-op Missions (GASP!)
Actual FPS gameplay and combat with something other than Sentinels or Wildlife
Boss battles/major showdowns with unique enemies that have actual combat mechanics that must be figured out and that don't just "bump" into you to deal damage.

Bigger and deeper interactions with the alien races. I like the conversations, but would like even more if there were more aliens populating shelters and stations, and that some of them could hand you some quests to do on the planets

The pop-in when flying around a planet is bad and my biggest gripe. Things do look much better when on foot. Don't have tech upgrades take up an inventory slot. Better inventory management. Finally, everything looks the same in regards to buildings and architecture.

Also 3rd person mode for when flying around.

Whilst I am really enjoying the game as is, I would love to see some of the following:

  • An easy way to see which systems you have visited on the galactic map.
  • One button to submit all your recent discoveries.
  • Improved/smoother space craft controls (at the moment they feel a little janky at times).
  • Star system maps showing the layout of planet, moons, etc around the star.
  • A way to see all your discovered formulas/crafting recipes.

Considering it isn't released for 90% of the people who bought it, nothing?

Maybe I'll update this post later.

Factional missions/battles with dynamic repercussions and relations from dealings.

Needs the ability to set waypoints within a system. There are some trading spots that are good that are lost forever because I can't find them again.

Bounty hunting missions where I have to track a target, possibly across multiple systems, using conversations with NPCs, environmental clues, and my scanner, resulting in a large payout that makes it worth the resource cost. Note: I'm not too far into the game, and I remember hearing something about bounty missions, but I have no idea if they're like what I'm envisioning, so I'm putting this here.

Pirate hideouts to raid for loot.

Ability to set custom map markers.

Ability to scan for specific resources (ie. an element or a type of building).

adjust the boost jump so it's a real mechanic (like hold R1 and jump to auto thrust forward)

add planetary mapping of some kind

fix swimming on surface of water

adjust fauna to better match planetary conditions

fix inventory so you can explore blueprints without having to have an open slot

add contextual prompt to auto consume appropriate mats when something runs out and I have them

add a lock on indicator for destinations using pulse jump

add scanning from orbit spot analyze planetary conditions before you land; also let me see this info anytime

lower the minimum flight altitude to 10m or so and add an "auto following terrain" indicator

let me reduce speed to 0 or fly in reverse in atmo

let me look around while sitting in the cockpit while landed (this is small but it really bugs me)

add persistent Out of Range indicator (like full inventory) for teleporting mats to ship

add multi tool upgrade that lets me summon ship

add multi tool upgrade that predicts weather storms / shows day night cycle

reduce the fuel cost for launch boosters

add icon treatment for stackable items

allow me to rearrange ship upgrades in inventory

expose faction standings

expose % of language comprehension

let me mine large minerals from the air using the ship like with asteroids

allow quick assign of items to d pad

more npc variety, walking around space stations etc

more of everything

Planet maps. What good are the waypoints I find if I can't find my way back to them. Situations like if I come across something like a drop pod but don't have the units for the upgrade, or even find a trading outpost, I want to be able to get back there.

Multiple planet biomes as well.

Address these hard crashes, for starters.

Movement outside of the ship just feels like a complete slog to me. I think you slow down if your inventory is full? But it makes the exploration of the planets not as fulfilling as I'd like them to be. I'd love that to speed up a bit.

Let me use the D-pad as like a quick menu a la Fallout because certain moments could call for it but instead I have to navigate through a frankly not great UI.

I actually kind of like the survival aspects and resource management in the game, but at the same time constantly shuffling in and out of the inventory feels like screeching the experience to a halt sometimes. You can find suit upgrades though and you might find and repair a ship that can carry more later on though but at the moment it doesn't feel great. I know finding the suit upgrades is supposed to feel rewarding but you may as well let me buy them at space stations.

This game wants to present itself as having a mystery or vagueness to it but sometimes it's to the point where things get obtuse and unclear.

I don't dispute many people's genuine criticisms with the game and the honeymoon period for them has basically ended. I'm still digging the game enough.
