EXCITE TRUCK!!! EXCITE THREAD.

NAKED SEXY TRUTH, that is.

We need an ExciteTruck thread so I can post my impressions in it.

So I played the Wii at Gamestop today:

The Wiimote is great, as everyone has said. It's not too heavy, not too light. All the buttons are comfortable, and not too small. The first one the guy gave me wasn't synced right, so I couldn't do anything. So he gave me the 1st-player controller, and it worked fine. I love how twisting the Wiimote turns the little cursor. There wasn't any shakiness at all on the menu screens. Unfortunately the menus are all I got to use the pointer for.

The game they have setup is ExciteTruck, I think it's the full game. One thing you notice when you turn the Wiimote on its side is that every button is surprisingly accessible. It's just as easy to press the A button as the D-Pad. I noticed that in the most comfortable position, it's easiest to press the B button with the top side of your middle finger. Not that you need the B button in ExciteTruck.

On to the game: it's really fun. I don't know how the replay value will be, but it will definitely be fun for short periods of time. Steering is intuitive, but it's not easy, which is good. You want a learning curve. At first I was driving all over the place but after a few minutes I started being able to do some things. Whenever you hit an icon or do something really cool a jingle plays from the Wiimote speaker. The terrain transformation is really neat. Once you figure out how to land jumps properly the controls become even more intuitive. The one thing I wasn't able to get the hang of was the hoop jumps, there must be something I'm missing.

Oh, and about the graphics: they look good. It looks a little bit better than an Xbox game. When you're playing it, there's no visible aliasing or graphical flaws. Yeah, if this was a 360 or PS3 game, it could look better, but the thing is, when you're actually playing the game, you would never notice the graphical difference. The water looks good, the lighting is good, the textures are good, it's a smooth 60fps, and there's lots of motion blur.

In conclusion:

ALSO, SOME EXCITE TRUCK SCREENS, BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY VIRGIN CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO FEEL LOVED:

Excite Truck and Zelda are the two Wii games I'm buying at launch so you could say I'm looking forward to the EXCITE TRUCK experience.

I hope this game gets online through WiiConnect24 or a sequel for it gets online. It's a shame a game like this isn't online.

I am still buying it but not at launch. I will get it once I get enough money.

You create a thread about Excite Truck, the sexiest game on any new console so far, and instead of posting screens, you post a photoshop of some crap anime?

You lose.

Good taste in games, though.

What Gamestop did you play at and when did they get their demo unit? The game sounds like fun and great impressions about the controller.

Is this the new motto for the Wii? In motion you can't tell the difference between 480 and 1080! @_@

Original Excite Bike (NES) has to be one of the most fun and innovative pick-up-and-play games ever made:

1.One of the first motocross games.
2.First real track/level editor available in a console game.
3.Simple control scheme
4.Multiplayer (but not at the same time if I remember correctly)

Seems so

I guess if I squint, put blinders on, get punched in the face and have someone wave their hand in my face, I could play the NES and not notice the graphical difference to Next Gen gaming systems!

im in pal land, misery :( excite truck was my 3rd most wanted after monkey ball and then zelda.

I'm sure in slower-paced games you would notice.

But in a fast-paced, heart-pounding racer like EXCITE TRUCK? No way.

Because it's EXCITE TRUCK

Damn Wii and its awesome games.

I was originally content with getting my Wii and two reserved games, Zelda and Red Steel, on launch day, but the more I read about the other games, the more I want them too. Since my reservations, I now want Rayman, CoD3, and now Excite Truck in addition. Where are all the MONEYS?!

Where are the MONKEYS? :I

Uh, plenty of Xbox games look better than that. There's no way it looks even slightly better than an Xbox game. The most obvious comparison would be between this and Burnout Revenge.

Doesn't it support more racers at a time too?

That doesn't look as good as ExciteTruck.

Sarcasm?

Excite Truck looks like fun. I've been waiting for the gamers impressions before deciding to buy or not. Metal Slug and Twilight Princess are as good as bought. Excite Truck is the only title I'm on the fence with when it comes to buy or not buy for the Wii.

If you say so, but I strongly disagree.

I don't know. In ET you're moving a bit more randomly and a bit faster than Burnout games...maybe that's why the stills are meh for it.

Still, the game does look good, don't deny that. I wonder if my EB has gotten its Wii kiosk yet.

Hey Trollphonsentra! Its nice to see you in this thread.

In any case, I am excited for this game but I'm not sure I will have the money at first. :(

These pics just made me realize something. With just the one analog stick and the inclination of some games to not even use that, Wii is going to have awesome camera controls.

Whatever dude. I said nothing even close to a troll in this thread and you resort to namecalling like that? Grow the **** up.

excitetruck has no support for drive-bys!

EXCITETRUCK WAS THE WII E3 GAME OF THE SHOW!

(Not) including Zelda... but it was super sweet.

Wait, sarcasm?

I thought Super Mario Galaxy was best Wii game, and ExciteTruck won best racing game?

Because racing games suck without camera controls.

Seriously guys, this is the EXCITE TRUCK OVERHYPE THREAD, not the "complain about camera controls on the Wii" or "complain about Wii graphics" thread.

I've been looking forward to this game since it was revealed. It just looks fun. I like what I've seen of the 'skidding' as well, seems to add a little bit of 'depth' to the game which is all I'd ask for in a game like this.

I haven't played Burnout Revenge, but the first three Burnout games are 2 players max and I've never heard anyone complain about that.

Actually, I just checked IGN. Revenge is also 2 players max.
