The internet has been blowing up on Hello Games and Sean Murray for the "broken promises" and "misleading trailers". While I agree that what we were sold on is not what we got, I still respect the hell out of the ambition of Murray and his team. They had a goal and a vision and they delivered on it as best they could. I don't believe there was any intentional misdirection or foul play. Just poorly planned marketing.

No negativity in this thread. No subtle negativity like "I love that I was able to return it."

I wanna hear what you love about NMS.
 
You can't just make an echo chamber thread for the sake of it, otherwise what are we discussing? I find it impossible to talk about the things I love without mentioning some of its flaws

I love the game, I love the Zen like state it putse in. I love role playing as a galactic photographer, I'm fact I wish they'd add a camera to your inventory and some type od photo mode. But I'm waiting for patches and updates before I inevitability burn out. I think it's unavoidable.

Yeah, it's little bit like "hey, but there's no action in this movie! What's the point?".
 
There's a place to talk about what you like about the game, it's the No Man's Sky OT
 
I really love the feeling of flying in the game. The ships feel like they have some weight to them and using little techniques like boost hopping feel great. Generally, even though the planets are procedural, quite a few that I've been to feel like what a planet would be like if eroded over millions of years.
 
I loved my first journey from one planet to another. Taking off from the crappy starter planet and landing on a frosty moon was really exciting with the sound design and the sense of scale.
