God Eater 1+2 is 50% off on Steam (Price error?)

Buy it, what a steal for the two games :o

Also lol, checked the store page and some review suggested to get MH Online instead of these two games. How can anyone recommend that pos, especially in comparison to the GE series.

Thanks for the post. Had my eye on it but never thought to look until the winter sale. (did not even get a X is on sale email from steam)

This and MH: Generations..good bye real world.

Can I get a quick run-down on the Multiplayer side of things please? Is it a full co-op campaign, and can anyone join in? Chances are I won't have any friends interested in trying this out unfortunately.

Hows the hacker/cheating situation on PC? Also the playerbase?

I'm hoping the character data in server side in GE3 and everyone plays on the same server regardless of platform.

Pretty much every mission can be done in co-op.
However, there are some really nasty multiplayer bugs. Check out the steam community group "[Fenrir]" (Minus the quotes) for more info.

Nah, this is more like Great Value cola. Not really comparable to the original.

Personally I got more enjoyment out of God Eater. Then again, the last MH I played was Freedom 2, and that was on the thumb-destroying PSP.

They're both Bandai Namco games. They love to devalue their games only a matter of months after release, as it's been seen with SAO and Cyber Sleuth. Even Tales doesn't take too long to drop.

how cheap has cyber sleuth gotten? been meaning to pick it up eventually, but it feels weird paying full price for a digital game

This is a crazy deal, the game is great, I highly recommend it.

If MonHun is Coca-Cola, then God Eater is Pepsi. Fair warning, I do believe there is some grinding in the late game.

I recently hit endgame in Resurrection(only the challenge missions left) and while I can't speak for rage burst I can tell you I never had to grind and I was able to always keep my gear up to date, I now have multiple max rank pieces of equipment.

The reward rates in the game are much kinder than monster hunter's and there's a system to trade crafting items for others so even if you needed something specific you'd never get to mh levels of 1% item grinding.

It's just the Halloween sale.

Is this the anime MonHun? Is it worth it if I don't like grinding?

I have never played Monster Hunter, but no grinding needed. In fact this game is easy as hell if you know what you are doing.

(This is not even including the absurdly idiotic game breaking custom bullets you can make in that statement.)

I never even saw what a mission failed looked like until I unlocked the end game "for fun" challenge mode when I cranked that straight to +99.

How strongly do you guys recommend playing 1 first? Am I okay jumping straight into 2 if I'm vaguely familiar with MH in general? Like are the locations/monsters in 1 unique enough where I'm going to want to play through that first?

Bit salty as I bought it full price two months ago, thankfully I played it so its not the usual backlog remorse. Great games, crazy value. I prefer them to Monster Hunter I think, while the story is of variable quality it does provide a nice incentive to push on and some of the characters are quite likeable, I also prefer the greater speed of this game.

MH fanboyism is a thing and it hurts the genre greatly as much as I love and adore MH.

If you only play GEB, then it might not the case anymore. GE already into its fifth games (if Resurrection count) and there are a lot of improvement. Reminder that MH also takes similar amount of games, 5 (if we take Freedom Unite as its turn point) or 6 (if we take Tri instead, which it is for me).

I've only played MH3 and, while I enjoy the concept, I find it too complex. Is this easier to get into then MH?
Yes, this is more action centric and there isn't much any non-hunting gameplay component that MH have. The moves are much more simple, but since you can switch melee-range on the fly, there's a nice gameplay flow that makes it different.

Resurrection have Predator style, while GE2RB have Blood Arts I think. Haven't try GE2RB so I don't know how blood arts work, but Predator Style in Resurrection is pretty neat. It's like making your own combo for your playstyle.
