Someone seems to be a little eager to get in to my account right now!

Have logged in and changed password just to be on the safe side and removed all payment options available.

Don't forget to add it to your account guys and gals

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Yeah, I'm really happy I set up Two Step. Every service should have it.

Does this use anything other than SMS? My mobile phone is very old...

Edit: What I meant is, I can only use SMS. Worried there might be something else required.

I enabled it a little while ago after getting hacked (not upset at all about it, was using a very outdated password - should've known better), but i lost my phone on new years eve! I had Two Step on so many things, I can replace the phone this upcoming week so it won't be an issue. Just a hilarious issue.

It's pretty disappointing that so many think it to be too much hassle. What they dont realize, until it is too late, is that the real hassle is losing many of your evenings in an attempt to get the account and/or money back.

Lose 5 minutes now. Don't be stuck with a week's worth of panic down the line!

Good job showing your attacker the code to the verification.

Given that each one gets expired once a new one is created and I've had many more since the screenshot, I think i'm safe. Plus I also updated the password anyway.

Wow not even SMS on your phone? Are you in the UK, I could send you an old Nokia that even has SMS functionality if you wanted. Better safe than sorry.

One question about this:
How do you regain control of your account if you have 2 step verification enabled and lose your phone?

Edit:
Ah never mind, found it (backup codes)

Don't show your phone number on the internet!

But you just showed your mobile number on the internet, now they gonna target your mobile number.

Too bad SEN doesn't support software authenticators like Google Authenticator or hardware keys, but at least SMS based authentication is better than nothing.

I didn't save my backup codes and changed my phone number so I ended up being locked out of my PSN account for 2 weeks. I had to email PlayStation support my Photo ID with proof from my phone carrier that the old phone number did once belong to me. They told me they can't input or edit numbers but they did deactivate my 2FA so I could log back in and set it up with my new number. Now I have my backup codes saved lol.

Honestly every service out there needs 2 factor authentication. GOG's is the only one left that I feel is kind of inadequate, but at least it exists.

They'll be the same people who re-use their passwords everywhere who then complain about being 'hacked'.

By the way, do you get the code everytime someone wants to log in or only if the used password was correct?

So is a change of the password even neccessary after getting messages for unknown logins?

Isn't this common when someone uses some other Sony console that doesn't have 2SV activated? I mean, does OP have some other console with his login lying around that may have been turned on by someone?

House will be empty right now and only devices with my account are my Vita and PS3 and 2 PS4's all have already been setup correctly. This was pretty much an attack on my account it seems.

I enabled two-step verification a while back, but had to just turn it straight back off again. It is just way too annoying for me...

There's a new scam of some kind going on now in Australia (possibly elsewhere) where people are getting enough info from people via phishing to be able to port mobile phone numbers to new SIM cards. So it renders this kind of two-step kinda useless. I prefer the keygen type.
