Jeff Kaplan: Open minded about exploring a switch overwatch port

It'll never happen. Even if it did, it would look and run like trash compared to PC

Comparing it to the PC version would be pretty dumb, better to compare it to the current console versions and hope that they'll be able to port it without sacrificing too much(in framerate and resolution)

Sounds like the kind of thing that would only happen if Nintendo went to some serious effort to bring this to their platform, which itself seems pretty unlikely.

Translation: If Switch sales keep up and there is money to be made we will try to get Overwatch on Switch.

With the Switch's portability, maybe I will finally be able to play Overwatch while taking a shit in the bathroom.

Laptop, Vita Remote Play

Blizzard doesnt want to outright say "no, its not going to happen" to avoid any backlash from Nintendo fans so Jeff Kaplan is giving a vague non-answer as appeasement.

God. I'd be on this so fast it's not even funny. I have Overwatch on my PC, but it'd be nice to be able to just go lounge on the couch or somewhere else my PC isn't and play it.

And the possibilities of local MP groups and going online vs other people sounds like a fun time too.

Seems like a waste of time to even say it. Just say it's not and move on?

Same thought for me. The possibilities of on-the-go Overwatch are endless.

Made sure I secured a secondary username "edgelord" on Switch just so I can make reaper if Overwatch ever made it to Switch.

(I suck at Reaper but I want to make a joke out of this.)

Edit: I hope this decision would help series mascot Tracer make it into Smash.

The big hurdle is that the max number of players in local multiplayer is limited to 8, not 12.

Probably would be possible to have the other 4 people group up and then join via your homes Wifi or something. Or have each team be a "local group" and have 2 groups then connect via Wifi. Unless you mean like, at a con or something. Then I guess that is a problem.

I think it's more the power of the console that's the issue. I'd imagine making all the loose items that fly around with shots/blasts/etc hit them immobile or get rid of them would probably help the CPU problem a little bit, if that's the case. But I'm not some expert or anything.

How is that a big hurdle? Make local multiplayer 4vs 4 max, standard 6 vs. 6 is online like on every other platform. They could even decide to not do it at all

I'd buy it if they managed to keep 60fps on it and have nintendo costumes. Its a wasted opportunity not to have nintendo outfits for overwatch characters like Samus Pharah or Palutena Mercy

Same, really. I wouldn't even mind if it looked decently bad. 60FPS+Nintendo Skins would be killer, and portable too. Jesus that sounds awesome.
