I'm sure this was supposed to be Summer 2016 at one point!

Not complaining too much though - the game looks seriously impressive. I'm still flabbergasted that no publisher wanted to pick this up back before the Kickstarter took place.

I saw that video where they explain the different layers of clothing and I'm like totally sold. Wow, the level of attention to detail is unprecedented.

This game really has potential to be amazing. Looking forward to it. Looks like the devs have poured a lot of passion into this project.

Not impressed by the facial animations, but goddamn, everything else looks absolutely stunning. Between this and Mount & Blade 2, my thirst for Medieval simulators will be quenched for a while.

Deep Silver did ?

No, I mean before the game was announced there was no publisher interest which is why they had to find a private investor and take it to Kickstarter to prove to him there would be interest in the game. I'll try to find a link.

Edit -

Paragraph 5:

Warhorse pitched and pitched and turned up nothing. Publishers were "scared", says Vavra, biting their nails waiting for confirmation that PS4 and Xbox One would sell. So what could he do - waste more time pitching?

Looks much better then I expected. Really well done trailer.

Just hope that it's fun to play also, and has a good quest structure.

Given the quality of every other asset in this game, I can let it slide (the vo is top notch sounding though).

I will definitely be playing this when it comes out!

Yeah, faces look a bit ropey but in pretty much every other regard this looks stunning. Especially so considering it's from a small indie studio and developed on a much smaller budget than the typical AAA game (was originally $500k/ÂŁ300k on Kickstarter + $5 million from a private investor, but they ended up getting over $2 million in crowdfunding including their own Paypal donations). Would be interesting to see how the budget of this compares to other Eastern Europe developments like Metro 2033, The Witcher 1/2 or Dead Island.

Yeah, games look impressive given the budget and all. Looking forward to the full release. I dare say they'll be able to polish up the facial animations in between now and February as well.

And in one of the stretch goals they'd said to expect Ryse-level facial animations, I guess they were a bit optimistic.

Anyway, the rest looks excellent.

Not too long to play a beta. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the game, but there's absolutely no way it's finished by then. Game is way too ambitious to not have a million bugs / missing features in feb 2018.

Warhorse stopped updating the beta last May. It's not an accurate representation of the game's current state.

I'll be playing this game in 2020-2022 or something, cuz i'm sure it'll run like shit on 1070 and i don't want to ruin my experience with shit load of stutters, inconsistent FPS and all sorts of other nasty things.

Excited for this. Eastern Europe have been on a roll recently. Was really gutted when I missed out on getting into the alpha/beta as a backer.

Is this still just Part 1? I remember in the KS, the game was described to be released in separate "parts" that would form some sort of narrative epic.

Seems to run okay on a 1070, considering it's maxed and a beta.

I don't think it looks that good in screenshots honestly. The vegetation seems very good though.

judging by this article from 2015, plans have changed aka expanded scope , story is planned for 2 full games ;-)
"Initially we split the game into three [instalments] to go to Kickstarter and be able to do it with the money,” he says."Over time, as we grew up, somehow even Act One [the first game, Deliverance] is bigger than what we planned; so now it's definitely like 50-hour core gameplay.

"We've partially decided that maybe with Act Two [and] Act Three it would be better to release it as one proper sequel rather than two DLCs or two smaller games. So this is going to be one big game, full-scale RPG, and then we would like to sell another even bigger RPG with the additional two acts together."

Great news. One of my most anticipated titles. But like all Kickstarter games I will wait for a lot of patches. Was the best way to play Wasteland 2 and other titles. They're often very buggy at release.

Again, the beta build is over a year old.
yep ... this was said in November last year on Vávra's FB profile (in czech) https://www.facebook.com/daniel.vavra/posts/10211393199134708
Bulletpoints ( their internal November 2016 FULL game build)
  • Beta will on 90% stay like it is , updating it could cause a huge delay for full game
  • Optimalizations so far: Previously FULL build ( whole gameworld,All quests and NPCs) ran on his " i5 and AMD 280x" cca 10-15fps , now its 30-35
  • His new PC ( i7 a AMD Nano) its pretty much stable 50 everywhere, on maxed settings 1440p.. o lot of stuff left to do on optimalization side of things
  • Improved loadings - previously game was loading whole intro, now its loaded after second picture
  • The performace bottleneck is at CPU side (beacause of how the world, AI, pathfinding ... works)
so i bet now 8 months later + another 8 monts till release it will be pretty fine

Oh man. Thanks for putting this on my radar Gaf. Can't wait for it. I read that the developers made it so beefy, this will also have a sequel too.
