Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima (and the main protagonist of SEGA's long-running Yakuza franchise) will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family - be those ties through blood or bond - when Yakuza 6: The Song of Life releases in the West.

The game is coming to consoles only on PlayStation 4, and thanks to the new "Dragon Engine," is the most advanced Yakuza title to date. From the unparalleled realism of the new setting of Onomichi, a beautiful, sleepy port town in Hiroshima Prefecture, to the latest evolution of Kamurocho, the biggest red light district in Tokyo, Yakuza 6 is the ultimate iteration the game's blend of gritty crime story, hyper-explosive combat, and all the vices and distractions those locales have to offer.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life will be localized by SEGA and published in the Americas and Europe in physical and digital formats in early 2018.

This is the one with Beat Takeshi in it, right?

If there was ever one thing to finally tip me over the fence to get into the series, that would be it.
 
I've only played Yakuza 0, so I don't know who Haruka is or her importance yet.

But I'm looking forward to Kiwami! I've got a long way to go.
 
It has now been a full hour since this trailer and the one for Kiwami were posted to SEGA's official channel, and while I'm certainly down for more Yakuza I'm left to conclude that that tiny clip from last night that looked like an Ishin localization was a lie Sony stuck into a sizzle reel to hurt me.
 
Oh yeah, we are getting like 3 Yakuza games in the period of a year. The new engine looks great too and there will be more Yakuza news out of Japan this year as well.
 
The tech upgrades in this game look great compared to 0 and Kiwami, it's a shame it's capped at 30 and that the game runs at 900p on OG and 1080p on Pro. Was expecting a bit better there.

When you fire up this game, and wander around the city at nighttime, you'll forget all about this.

This is honestly one of the best looking games this gen!!
 
The only thing about the trailer that bothers me is that it mentions that this is the next chapter in Kiryu's legend. But they didn't mention it's the final one too.

I expect tears at the end ;_;
 
Yakuza 0, probably my favourite game this year. Although there were other amazing games.

Kiwami already pre-ordered and of course I will buy Yakuza 6 as well.
