In a quiet week, ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ steals back No1, up two places from No3.

GTA V has now clocked up a total of 13 weeks at No1 in the All Formats Chart, putting it alongside ‘Zumba Fitness’ with the third most weeks at No1 of any title. The price promotion on ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ is now over and it duly sinks from top spot to No8. Further price promotions on ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ see it continue to climb, soaring from No14 to No4, while renewed stock of ‘Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’ see it also re-enter the Top 10, up from No16 to No5. Fellow Switch title ‘The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild’ also benefits, but can’t quite make the Top 10, up from No22 to No12. In its 3rd week ‘Dirt 4’ manages to reach its highest charting position, up two places to No2, remaining ahead of ‘FIFA 17’ which rises 4 places to No3. ‘Dead by Daylight’ is the highest new entry at No16 ahead of other debutants ‘Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood’ at No23 and ‘Ever Oasis’ at No28.

Crash ready to make a splash next week.

You have to wonder why they released T7 on Xbox. Valkyria Rev is sure to bomb but again the Xbox version will be lucky to do more than double digits.

Quite expected, but Ever Oasis seems to have done very poorly. :'(

I did my part and its a blast. It deserves so much better. =(

Luckily Metroid Prime 4 was already announced because I don't see new 3DS games selling particularly well from here on - that includes Metroid II.

GTA no. 1... How?

GTA and Rockstar are such a weird anomaly in this industry. It's fascinating really, there are other crazy sellers like Minecraft, Tetris, and Wii Sports, but those are different kinds of anomalies and aren't traditional blockbuster games. When it comes to traditional blockbuster games, it's hard to see anything but another GTA beating GTAV.

Nice to see some legs for the Switch titles! Will be interesting to follow ARMS personally in all the big markets.

The chart based on value is quite fun:

01 (01) ARMS (NINTENDO)
02 (08) MARIO KART 8 DELUXE (NINTENDO)
03 (15) THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD (NINTENDO)

More surprising is that some people are still buying 1 2 Switch

A launch game is a launch game. Is it really so surprising that Knack sold so much?

It's still over £30 on Amazon.co.uk - 4 months after the launch.
I personally wanted to buy 1 2 Switch but I'm willing to pay £15 max. Same for Bomberman R I can't believe it's still retailing at over £30 - took Konami much less time to discount MGSV.

Wasn't Knack bundled almost everywhere? 1-2 wasn't. Seems like Zelda, bomberman and snipperclips ate its lunch a bit though.

I'm pretty certain Snipperclips might have outsold 1 2 Switch, lower priced - bundled with JoyCon has been top 3 in Japan eShop since launch and top 10 in all other territories. Wonder why Nintendo isn't financing more such games. I think if they weren't supporting the 3DS they might have had a lot more such smaller scope titles on the Switch.

But with the lineup they have they have secured for the launch year they have ensured the most important thing and that's momentum. Snipperclips isn't going to move systems while games like Zelda, MK8D, Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey will. While Arms, Pokken, FE Warriors, Mario + Rabbits, Minecraft ensure that lineup is nicely varied.

Outside of FIFA, M+R, Minecraft, NBA 2K18, Skyrim there are few 3rd party publisher that will benefit from the first year. The fact that Konami hasn't lowered the price of Bomberman R is extremely short sighted if the title was $25/€25/£20/¥3,000 physical/digital around May/June the game would have easily allowed them to sell another over a million WW by the end of the summer. I guess there is still time but the pricing for certain 3rd party and 1st party games is absolutely baffling. 1 2 Switch shouldn't be more expensive than Snipperclips at this point.

You didn't mention Sonic, which may comparatively benefit the most. I wouldn't be surprised if both do the best on the Switch. Then Yooka as well but it's late. I'm not sure how NBA will do.

As far as I remember, Sony was very reluctant to officially bundle anything during the first six months in the west. Even if they did they ended up increasing the price by $50. Actually, they kept doing that for almost one year after launch that is when they started Destiny bundle which was again $50 more expensive than just console.

Pretty steep drop for Wipeout in its third week, being outsold by Forza Horizon 3 in its 30-something-th week.

A real shame. No new Wipeout for us, then :(

Whats with the huge Overwatch split? Xbox One version is at #7 in the indiviual chart. The PS4 version is not in the individual top 40 either?

Shooters/sports=xb1

Everything else= PS4

for US/UK.

Just how the userbase sorted itself out after 2 decades.

Ever Oasis came out? Ha... guess that says it all now I think about it. I'll pick it up when I get the chance.

Arms and Mario kart killing Horizon Zero Dawn:P

Your obsession with Horizon is getting pretty embarassing to watch... but I guess that's just where some of the Nintendo fans on gaf are at these days.
