Has anyone else gotten Quickspot yet?
I grabbed it yesterday and I'm liking it a lot so far.
I haven't gotten much playtime with it yet because I needed to recharge the battery on my DS, but from what I have played so far, it's brilliant.
For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, it's basically a video game version of those "spot the differences between the two pictures" challenges you see in magazines.
The first mode I tried was the untimed mode where there are several differences to spot in one picture. In the first picture, I was able to find most of the differences quickly - but as expected, the last difference had me stumped for a few minutes. Fun stuff.
After that, I tried the timed mode where you have to spot one difference in each picture before moving on to the next one. I didn't expect to like this at much, but it's equally as enjoyable.
Then I tried the Fortune Teller mode. Basically, it's more of the same, but with some weird fortune teller/brain age-style stuff attached at the end. A cute novelty, if nothing else.
Thankfully, the art has been pretty good so far. The coolest ones, obviously, are from other Namco games. I love it when companies pay homage to other games in their library like this.
Now, I don't expect this to be one of those games I play all day, every day, nonstop, for hours at a time. It should be obvious that this simply isn't that type of experience, nor should it be. Quickspot is meant more for quick bursts of fun, and it definitely delivers.
All in all, I'm loving the game so far and can't wait to get back to it. If you think it's something you'll be interested in, go ahead and grab it.
