As far as I know it is PSN only at this time. Check the marketplace though, you never know.I AM JOHN! said:The demo's only on PSN, right, or did they release it on marketplace too?

Ahh, that's EA for ya. Even if they're simple, I like a nice XMB background for my demos. They don't have to have music (and if it's going to be some of the super loud crap we've had in the past silence is just fine) but something about having no background image at all seems iffy to me.kenta said:Edit: No music or background in the XMB :/
that was awesomely bad :lolcalder said:Of course, sometimes we get backgrounds like the abomination for the Stranglehold demo. :lol My god that was ugly.
I didn't have any problem at all with the boss fight, I was able to get to the second platform with bart and only needed the helium for the third one. The trick is to lure Lard Boy to the construction yard so that you are closer to the heliumkenta said:Aaaand I'm done with the demo but I didn't even finish it. I have a huge headache from the camera, not to mention the graphics and I tried to figure out the second phase of lard boy but my headache only got worse. If I understood it correctly I need to hit the target with Bart then switch to Homer, find a helium tank and float up to it and thrust into it? Yeah, not happening, I tried several times to even land on the ledge but the helium doesn't last long enough for it to be graceful
Just bleah, I was hoping to be surprised by the game but it's about as crappy as I expected it to be

I didn't need helium for any of them. Bart can hover with R1 held, so you kinda just gotta wait until you can stop him right by one of the vents of air that shoots him way up in the air.kenta said:Aaaand I'm done with the demo but I didn't even finish it. The cutscenes totally sold me on the game they were awesome.LiquidMetal14 said:I really enjoyed the demo. This feels like the best Simpsons game I've played to date. The graphics are as close to the cartoon as I've seen as well. This just became a buy for me.
Yeah I did lure him there but then it was nearly impossible to run around to his back, he just kept following me and firing his lazersdarkressurection said:I didn't have any problem at all with the boss fight, I was able to get to the second platform with bart and only needed the helium for the third one. It is tough for sure, I don't think it was the best level to represent the game. But I did enjoy the humor.kenta said:Yeah I did lure him there but then it was nearly impossible to run around to his back, he just kept following me and firing his lazers
Loved the Simpsons nostalgia going on too. Those Toy Krustys from that Holloween episode were really awesome. And Kents remarks from the chopper were really funny too. BTW I could not make it to the 2nd platform on him, how do I do this?darkressurection said:The cutscenes totally sold me on the game they were awesome.
Try and get on top of a building and glide across to it using Bart, or lure him to the helium tanks and use Homer to float up.LiquidMetal14 said:Loved the Simpsons nostalgia going on too. Wow, how did you pull that offKurowaSan said:i got to the third one with Bart and took me forever :lol
oh, and i agree with the camera, it's kinda bad, much more when you're trying to land on the third Lard boy spot with Bart by gliding. you have to keep moving the camera all the time, it's way too fast/sensitive, and i, for one, would love an invert camera controls option.
oh, and L1 targeting system didn't feel very helpful to me, you have to be facing your target perfectly or you won't shoot at it.
darkressurection said:PSN Only for now
Agreed. The targeting and camera, particularly the shift back to front view, was really off. Not really bad, either way, I really enjoyed the demo. It became a buy. Even if this demo did not showcase the game at its best.KurowaSan said:i got to the third one with Bart and took me forever :lol

It is a possibility, I was surprised that the demo wasn't on XBL this morning. Sony moneyhats?MercuryLS said:Isn't this one of the signs of the apocalypse?

While you pose some good points, I think the rest of the game will really shine. Especially if you are any form of a Simpsons fan. I am not hardcore but I loved the whole feel of the game. Minor control/camera issues aside, it was really enjoyable.jvm said:Did not enjoy. Probably won't buy. Spoilers.
- Motion sickness after playing. Spent 40 minutes in the game.
- Camera acts crazy sometimes. If you try to spin it around and the camera "hits" a wall, it resets in a disconcerting way.
- Hitting the weak spots on Lard Boy is easy. Getting up to the doors after he stops is not.
- For better or worse, I used Bart for all three hits on Lard Boy. The last one was hardest, since I couldn't get Bart to glide far enough to the door.
- I did try to use Homer to lure Lard Boy into a spot where Bart would be high enough, but then Bart would run away from where I had him. Annoying. Needs a "stay here" command.
- Eventually used the crane in the construction yard. Lured Lard Boy near it with Bart, got on top of crane and ran to top and shot the door. Then, since he was literally a couple of feet away, I glided right onto the door.
- Graphics are fair. I was surprised at the aliasing I saw and the straight polygon edges in the models.
- One particularly glaring case, at least to me, was the way the gas tanks near the prison went from having a few sides to being perfectly round. The distance at which the model flips is just close enough that you can see it.
- Music was annoying after 40 minutes.
- Did not hear very many repeated comments, given the time I spent with it. Liked that a lot.
- I'm not in the mood for chasing down items, so the bonuses (Duff Beer bottlecaps, cliches, Krusty icons) hold no appeal.
At this point, I have no inclination to spend more time with this game, ever.
