Megaman is sh**, learn about Metalstorm.

Just watch the damn video and learn about the awesomeness of Metal Storm, which is probably THE most underrated game of all-time.

I loved MetalStorm. I remember going to the Babbage's in the mall with my dad to get this in reward for a good report card. Ah, those were the days.

Wow.. that metal storm game actually looked good. To think that was an nes game. I like the happy video game nerd.. he's a funny guy.

I can't stand how smug this guy looks.

You have no friends because you use the term "Wax nostalgia" in informal conversation.

Someone missed the joke.

MetalStorm is definitely one awesome obscure NES game.

But let's not get carried away with the Mega Man remarks.

I needed a controversial title to attract the attention this game deserves.

I picked this game up a few months back based on a gaf recommendation (forgot who). It's real fun game and packs that old school, unforgiving difficulty that todays games forgot about (except Contra 4). It can be had for pretty cheap if you don't want to wait around for an unlikely VC release.

This game is SO FUCKING AMAZING it transcends words and any attempt to describe it MUST BE IN ALL CAPS

also: Metalstorm does indeed ROCK but fuck you for putting down MegaMan. 2, 3, and the Z games all kick ungodly amounts of ass

I tried the first level, but I just assumed it was another shitty NES piece of shovelware.

I'll stick it in again.

Amazing game... impressive graphics, very methodical pacing, great level design, and high level of challenge... it's exactly what you'd expect out of an IREM game from that era.

But if its better than MM2 and 3??? That's a tough one!

Because he is able to use the english language above a 5th grade level, he has no friends? Yeah, what the fuck ever.

(btw, it's "wax nostalgic")

I think he made videos for the out-nerd the nerd and won or something. It's meant to be a parody, you guys take things too seriously.

And he does talk about cool games. I liked his startropics video, makes me want to play it.

I thought he said "wax nostalgia"..but I'm deaf. Truth be told, I didn't know the OP was the dude in the video, so I wouldn't have been a jerkweed. Having a bad morning so I'm taking it out on random internet folks - I apologize.

You win

I'm guessing this kills my credibility, but I've never heard of this game. I even read the title as Motorstorm:lol

But it does look cool.

I played it a bit at someone's house a while back. The game is hard. I don't think I got past the second level.

What's with people being unable to show the merits of a game without shitting on another.
There's no need for that. This does look great and fun.

How many fewer people do you suppose would enter this thread if Megaman wasn't in the title?

You have to be over 30 to appreciate 8 bit? You do realize the NES came out in 1986 right?

Two buttons and a D-pad? My god how did you people play the NES? :lol

I still remember my brother playing SMB as a young-in, and throwing up on the controller. He kept his NES for a long time before we got a Genesis, so I still remember playing games like SMB, Ninja Gaiden, and Double Dragon. But Sonic 2 sealed the deal for me.

Calcaneus srsly, I played this game, and I'm 24.

Never said the game was too old for me to remember, I just never heard of it. I guess its pretty reasonable seeing as its a pretty obscure game. All my posts after the first one are in jest.

Was there a metal storm on the SNES? I remember renting a games similar to this way back when, but it was for SNES and your robot could transform. Anyone else play this?

WOW, that guy is original. Even has his own original song.

He actually entered the "Out Nerd the Nerd" contest on GameTrailers. His video and commentary are high enough quality that you really shouldn't care. He reminds me of the Angry Nerd before he started doing all these stupid little skits after all his commentary.

Pretty good vid and I am definitely going to try this game out one day.

This kinda reminds me of a SNES game called Cybernator which is also very underrated and mostly forgotten.
