time to ban the "this" meme

Personally, I think we should ban people calling for bans on things. We could start with the OP, or sposlrkelksjlkjklsjksjksksss.
 
I agree with the OP. You people robbed me of Rickrolling and (though it's not really a meme) Imageshack.

We should ban the Obama avatars, though. That's just creepy.

Oh shit, I misunderstood the OP completely. I thought you were being self referential and talking about banning threads for banning memes.
 
What's the difference between using "this" and quoting a post and using "." or saying "QFT"?

If you ban one you should ban all.

I don't agree with it though, if someone already said the same thing you were going to post there is nothing wrong with quoting and saying "I have the same thoughts." just adds that many more opionins to the thread.
 
This has been tried before, just last year I think, but nothing happened.

Also if you got rid of "this" you would have to get rid of "+1", "." and all the different versions of "QFT".

"This" is not a meme. You clearly don't know what a meme is. "This" is not one of them.
 
I find 'Wow. Just wow.' even more annoying.

Actually, any kind of nerdy, hyperbolic statements annoy me. But this one just irks me like no other.

QFT, I agree that the same should be done to people who say "waggle" and "methinks".

How is it not a meme? It's a way of doing something (posting) that is passed on from poster to poster. I doubt very much that every poster who posts "this" thought of doing that individually. If it were to ever change to "that" then what would have mutated?
