A few mistakes:

1. Making this one of your first posts. There are many juniors who have posted this type of thing or worse in complete seriousness; you can't expect people to just assume about you the opposite of what their experience tells them.
2. Not posting the petition text, makes it even more likely that people will take it seriously.
3. Joke post. They almost never work, and 90% of the time end up in banning. Percentage goes up tremendously when made by a junior member.
 
So this guy probably has browsed this forum for a long time. He saw lots of funny threads where people posted funny GIFs, links to stupid articles and shit like that. Well after registering he decided to post a link to a site he found funny. "Maybe this will make a good laugh!" he thought.

And your first response is ban this mofo, get the fuck out etc.

And of course few posts later when he is defending himself (from what???) you don't believe him.

What a stupid elitist attitude.

While I agree with most of your points - I do feel that GAF has had to "tolerate" so much BS.

Wether or not it's time to take a zero tolerance attitude - That's not for me to decide. But it is disheartening that neebies are not welcomed well here.
