Wearing shoes without socks club.

Am I the only member?

I really can't wear socks. They're uncomfortable and suffocating, plus I think it looks better to not wear socks.
 
To be honest, they really don't.
I guess my feet just don't sweat very much.

I agree. I really don't like wearing socks either....the only time I do wear them is if I'm wearing dress shoes.

Seriously you may want to get a loved one to double check your feet funk lest it affect your social life.
 
My shoes are really thin, and have a mesh sole.
They're like slippers.

The feeling of bare feet in shoes is just not pleasant.
I don't like wearing socks either, they come off when I get home (along with the pants) but for chrissakes I have enough fucking decency to wear socks when I leave the house.

Socks don't just help contain foot sweat, they also pad the skin from the shoe material. Once long ago I ran out of clean socks at camp and before long the backs of my feet below the ankle area were chafed to the point of bleeding.

Hmm, yeah I've had shoes that were really uncomfortable and gave me a blister once.
Pretty much the only shoes I wear now are about as thin as a piece of fabric.
 
Once in a blue moon I'll throw my sneakers on real quick without socks on to throw trash in the dumpster or something, and even then my feet feel abit nasty. I can't imagine going all day like that. Socks are like underwear for your feet. Much as I sure as shit wouldn't want my moist mid-summer-in-Houston balls rubbing against my pants, ditto for my sweaty feet in a sneaker oven.

Genetically superior? Nah. I think the ultimate irony here is that you DO wear socks and just mistake them as shoes.
 
i used to do this until i went to school on a grassy campus in a rainy town, and not wearing socks became totally unfeasible. since then i've been back in the socks habit, though i still kind of hate them
 
I absolutely, totally, utterly, VEHEMENTLY hate socks. I have always hated socks. I don't remember a time in my life where I would willingly wear socks without complaining. I hate socks. They're ugly, they're not comfortable (although, I will admit, that a totally fresh pair right out of the dryer feels so good in the winter, but they come right off once they're no longer warm), and they make my feet sweat like crazy.

For you ninnies out there gagging and rolling their eyes in the back of their heads making urkurkgaghrukg sounds right now: My feet do not smell at all. My shoes do not smell. I have the best smelling feet and shoes in my apartment (I'm one of four people), and I'm the only non-sock wearer. You guys have no right to complain, you smell worse. I shower every day, though, so my feet are always clean. I can easily go a week without washing my feet and still have no scent, I'm that awesome.

Fuck socks, fuck socks, fuck. socks. I hate socks, and I'm damn proud of it.

I just wear socks that are really short (or how should I say it?) with shorts. The kind that don't go above the ankle.
 
I only ever really wear sandals or flip flops, so I guess I'd fit in. Although, when I do have to wear real shoes, socks are a must.

Any who my shoes would literally get tagged for being a biohazard if I didn't wear socks, pretty sure I sweat above the average male and I don't even live in a hot area...NW PA.

Thats disgusting imo. If you care about the looks then just buy some short summer socks that only cover the foot.

I don't see why I would be making this up right now, but ok! I never said my feet don't sweat, I said socks make them sweat more. I wash my feet thoroughly daily and I wear shoes that are extremely comfortable and breath well (none of those stifling sneakers Americans seem to HAVE to wear). I do have days where I sweat more than normal, everyone does, it's human. I just like to be human more than you guys, I guess!

If I could, I would go barefoot everywhere I go. I love the feeling of walking in my barefeet, especially on grass. The feeling of cool, soft grass on a nice day is unparalleled.
 
I wore leather loafers (dress code) without socks (probably a failing of the dress code) through most of high school, and never had any problems with odor. I can definitely stink up a pair of sneakers pretty good even with socks, too.
 
That's fucking disgusting.

If you don't like socks showing too much, theres a reason why they invented those ankle high socks.
 
it's unhygienic. if you constantly wear shows without socks there is no protection from bacteria and other microbes between your feet and your shoes. It could lead to a variety of problems from athlete's foot to mold accumulation. It's outright disgusting, I don't care what your feet smell like.
