ABOUT

This web app allows you to easily use NeoGAF on mobile devices. I originally made this for myself but later decided to open it up for everyone to use. It works best on devices running the Safari/Webkit browser (iPhone, Palm Pre, G1 and iPod Touch) however it also works on most Opera devices including the Nintendo DSi and PSP. You can browse anonymously or log in with your NeoGAF account to access additional features including in app posting, replying, viewing private messages and viewing subscribed threads.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I view spoiler text?
Simply tap spoilers to reveal the text inside.

How do I zoom in on pictures?
Tap on photos to open them in a new window where you can pan and zoom.

How do I post a reply?
You can add a reply to a thread by clicking the 'Reply' button in the bottom right corner when viewing a thread. If you are not logged in, this will open a new window to NeoGAF.com where you will need to be logged in to compose the reply. If you are logged in to the web app, you will get a custom editor. You can also tap the quotation marks icon above each post to start a reply that automatically quotes that post.

How do I jump to a specific page?
Tap on the button at the center bottom that shows which page you are viewing to be prompted to jump to any page available.

Can I use this site on my desktop computer?
No. Viewing this on a desktop will redirect you to NeoGAF.com. Please support NeoGAF by visiting the official site whenever using a desktop computer.

Do I install this?
No. This is a web site. Just visit the link above to access it. If you are using an iPhone/iPod Touch, you can add a launch icon to your home screen that goes directly to this site by first opening the site in Safari then clicking the "+" button and selecting "Add to Home Screen".

How do I compensate you for this?
I'm not seeking any donations or money for this. If my server's bandwidth ever becomes an issue, I may seek donations to cover the costs at that time. For now, I just appreciate everyone's compliments and feedback.

Awesome! I used Juice's version months ago and was sad when it died, as it makes reading gaf on EDGE much easier. I look forward to using yours

i like it, but yeah, sucks that it is being run through your server, a native app for the phone or hosting the webapp on neogaf's servers would obviously be the ideal solution.

anywho, yeah, works well from my very brief checking out of a couple threads. im gonna see if this post shows up automagically or whatnot as a quick test, but many thanks for doing this.
edit-and it does when i go back into the thread. alrighty, good.

VERY NICE :D

Is there a mode where it just lists the new threads created since your last visit?

Can you 'favorite' threads (the way FF3 does?) and get notified when they get bumped? Handy for OT-DRAMA threads :lol

Also how do I get DinoGAF banner on this? :p

EDIT: And yeah, the ideal solution would be to have this running as a proper app on the iPhone.

Very, very cool.

OMG are pages long. :lol

Edit: The admins need to get behind this and make it official, because this is too awesome.

Nice! Glad to see I can douse the one I had been working on, stir it, and douse it again.

Good job!

Maybe I'll add that as a setting. :lol

is it possible to jump to specific pages within a large thread?

I'll think about that some more. To be honest, I've been using it for about a week now and I've never really found the need. Typically, I just click the "Last Page" button and then work my way back using the "Previous Page" buttons. Rarely do I ever read more than a few pages of a thread when I'm on the go. I've tried to design the interface more for quick and dirty reading, if that makes sense.

it'll save you bandwidth

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Nice! Works and looks pretty snazzy on even my meager Motorola Q. The pages load much quicker and look much better formatted to the screen.

Awesome work!

Seriously great work, I hope someone takes this concept and makes it a native app eventually. That'd be awesome. I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for it even.

Until that happens, this is WAY better than browsing the actual webpage on the iPhone.

Awesome app, really love it. You even did a home screen icon, nice. I bet this will be my most used app on iPhone.

Thanks!

You know, now that I think of it, I'd actually pay a few bucks for a native NeoGAF app, and I bet many others would too. You should be able to make a killing easily with it. Say you price it at 1.99 and get 10000 people to buy it, that's 14K cool cash for you. Not a bad summer earning.

EDIT: added one zero to make the deal even better.

You suck at knowing AppStore biz model. Developer gets 70%, Apple gets 30%. 70% of 20K = 14K.
2 dollar * 1000 = 2k

back to app, also facilitates reading on a blackberry:

You've made the wait for my iPhone a little bit tougher. Very well done.

Now, about that Dead Rising Photo app......

Nicely done sir...

This will be especially helpful in poor 3G coverage areas. I switched to Edge and navigation was still silky smooth. I'm highly impressed!

Not as pretty on my BlackBerry, but beats the hell out of the full version.

Edit: Looks like crap on the BB browser, but much closer on Opera Mini.
