If any of you have been iffy about trying out Team Fortress 2 on the PC because you're not sure if your computer can handle it, or you're not sure about taking that $20 jump, this is the thread for you! Owners of the game like myself were given guest passes that we can give out to whoever we want on Steam. These guest passes allow the recipient to play Team Fortress 2 for free for 3 days. It's a great idea to let people try the game out, but these passes are expiring in the next couple of weeks, so we need to make sure they get used! Come on, you know you want to earn the ever so delicious sandvich!
So, if you're interested, after you PM the user on the forums and get confirmation that they will give you their guest pass:
1. Get Steam by going here
2. Get a Steam ID
3. Friend the user (by either Steam ID or e-mail)
4. Wait for the pass
5. Enjoy to your heart's content!
Make sure to check the system specs, so if you absolutely know you can't run it, probably would be better to let a different user have it (but if you meet the specs and want to at least test it, go ahead). Here's the current list of GAF users that I know with guest passes and when they expire, I'll try to update whenever I get word that someone gave their pass out. If you have one and haven't used it, let us know! Those things expire soon!
