Saw this on CAG, did a search here and didn't see it.

Microsoft wants to pay you to use Live Search. Those who got in on it last time can vouch that it DOES work, though it takes about 2.5 months to get paid.

Here's the deal.

1. Use Live.com to seach for what you want, for this example, 40gb ps3

2. If you see a sponsored link for 30% off at eBay, follow it. If you only see 7%, keep refreshing till you get 30%.

3. Find the auction you want and use Buy It Now (ONLY works with Buy It Now). 40gb PS3 for $399.

4. Pay with PayPal. You **MUST** pay with PayPal.

5. A couple of hours later, your should receive confirmation about your cash back bonus. $119.70 back on a PS3, woot! $279.30 all said and done.

6. About 75 days later, the cash back is deposited into your PayPal account to do with whatever you wish.

7. You can use this up to 6 times (up from 3 last time) for up to $200 back, but I'm not sure if that's $200 max EACH deal or the total of $200 back from 6 deals.

8. US Residents only. Sorry pswii60 :(

9. Full terms and conditions.

I'm going to try and use this opportunity to pick up a 120gb 360 drive. $150 - 30% = $105. 360 Arcades would go for $139.

Can't beat Live Cashback.

Yeah, it takes a really long time to get the money back but it's definitely better than sketchy mail-in-rebates or credit card deals.

I just found a used 360 120gb hdd for 102.99 with transfer cable and CD. Would be $72.01. Very tempting, but I'm holding out for sealed. Link (dunno if it'll work).

What is up with the "may get cashback" does that mean there is a chance I could buy something and not get the discount?

Bought a WD 1TB external HDD after searching for "xbox 360".

For anyone worried about not getting the cash back:

After signing in to ebay the cashback icon at the top of the ebay page went away, which worried me. But when I clicked through to purchase, the cashback amount was under my total before checking out (so use that as confirmation).

Thanks!

Can confirm this works...it takes 60days until you can request MS to deposit the money somewhere, then 14 additional days for MS to complete the transaction but I got $44 back from buying a PSP :)

edit: for those wanting to import, can get an arcade 360 for $250 shipped :P

Speaking of getting paid to use Live search...

check out club.live.com, my totally free copy of Kameo is in the mail as of yesterday!!

I just picked up an Intel Q9550 for $250 shipped. Not QUITE 30% off, but pretty close.

Damnit. I had no idea those were going for cheap. I was looking at the 9450's which are overpriced right now. I might have to get a 9550.

Edit: And I did. Thanks, again!

I bought an Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver for $221 shipped. I can look forward to not hearing any difference in sound quality with my untrained ears.

I did this the first time it came around. (I bought a Mac Mini, which is probably annoys Microsoft even more than all the PS3 purchases!) Anywho, the $200 limit is your total limit for all rebates under this promotion. I maxed mine out with a couple purchases, and I'm unable to get any sort of deal any more. Not even the normal little 5% rebates. The party's over. The well is dry. Can't get blood from a turnip. That dog won't hunt. The ship has sailed. Etc.

I bet one could get creative with multiple PayPal accounts under different names though....

i bought a 40 GIG PS3 MGS4 and a Dual shock the combined cost of $289 last may. takes about two months to get your money back.

What a perfect excuse to pick up a PS3 :D

Unfortunately I couldn't find any $399 new PS3 80GB w/ DualShock3s that sat right with me (lots of open box, or 40GB, or whatever). Ended up Buy-it-Nowing one for $457 w/ free shipping, bringing my total after Cashback to $320.

Hrmm... a 24" monitor would go nicely with this...

60GB PS3 systems can be had for roughly $410-$430 -- which makes them roughly $280-290 as well. Full backwards compatibility and a Blu-Ray player at that price is pretty hard to pass up...

That is absolutely not true. The $200 limit is per item.

You don't know if it worked till it's all said and done and you've already paid full price for the item? I have it up but how do I know for sure it will go through?

Last time near the bottom of the page it said something like "You are eligible for $XX.xx discount based on this item" before you totally went through with the purchase

I think I'm gonna grab LBP or some other game coming out this holiday I know I'm gonna buy......people always have pre-orders up.

when you have selected your item for buy it now on ebay and are about to "checkout"

I can't find one I want... every time someone puts a game in with the auction it's a game I already have on 360!!! Why does everyone buy crappy games. I don't want NBA live!!!

Damn it's not working for me :(..I'm Canadian, but have connections in the US, but have tried to change the settings for US regions and all I get is amazon.com as a sponsored site..damn..I guess you can't fool live.com, they must check IP address to disable this deal

Finally settled on a used 40gig PS3 in great condition from a 100% feedback seller. Total after discount: $232.00 with shipping.

Thanks Microsoft!!!!

Just got a Zune 2G for roughly $55. When do we get our discount?

Mine said 60 days. You'll get an email in your ebay account. Open that, then follow the link. Either sign in (if you have XBL) or create an account, then change the options to add your paypal address in and it will dump the money in there when it's ready.

I did this last time this was up. You do get your money, it just takes a long time. This may be a good time for me to get that Ion Drum kit.
