PS3 problem for game updates/patches, please help its christmas.

Okay i have been having this random problem for a while now. When certain PS3 games get updates and or patches and you have to download the data to the hardrive. You know when you boot up a game and it goes Version 1.10 is availble. Everytime i try i get the download started it never goes past 1 or 5% and crashes and goes error. I have no other problems downloading anything else from anywhere including the firmware updates they only take about ten min, but this is giving me grief. Just got Buzz and LBP for christmas and i cant get online with them.

Gaf help me out, please i beg!

Pretty fast internet speed i think. I got a 85% wirless internet speed. I have about 10-15 gigs of space left. Hmmm ill keep trying.

Wireless huh, sounds like it could be a NAT issue or interference. Set your PS3 to DMZ on your router and see if that helps.

Sound like a router issue or something ...

Had this issue FOREVER.

Turn off the media server thing. One sec and I'll tell you where it is.

No problem since.

EDIT: Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection > Disable

This. It works

1. Disable the Media Server

2. Set Date and Time to Internet

3. Disable the Information Board

These three steps should allow for you to download the updates.

Thats it! It was the media server. I dont ever remember turning it on. I would have never thought of that. Thank you guys so much! You all have been a great help.

Everyone have a VERY Merry Christmas!

THANK YOU!
