EA’s ‘Need for Speed: Undercover’ sticks at No3 as sales of almost all Top 40 titles more than halve. ‘Wii Fit’ is a notable exception, star jumping up the chart from No20 to No4, no doubt boosted by some well-intentioned New Year resolutions to shed pounds gained over Christmas. All Top 40 games lose sales, but ‘Wii Fit’ only drops by 1%, topping the Wii Chart for the first time since week 44 2008. The remaining Top 10 games all shuffle places, except ‘Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures’ which re-enters the Top 10 after a 6 month absence, up from No17 to No9, benefiting from competitive retailer pricing.

If France is anything like the UK, GH:3 has probably been going cheep lately. I saw a bunch of people with GH:3 guitar bundles a bit after Christmas this year, HMV or somewhere had them pretty cheep.

Ah yeah that would explain it.

Seeing the jump for Indy and Panda in UK´s chart implies they are still selling a couple of 360s.
It's funny these two titles are probably helping the 360 sell more then GTAIV did.

Interesting that Far Cry 2 and LittleBigPlanet have had the longest legs of any of the big HD titles released in October (unless FIFA was released then too?), when they released in the shadows of Fallout 3 and Fable 2.

Damn on the PS3 side, FC2 is > Resistance 2, and on the 360 side, FC2 > Left 4 Dead. 0_o

I wonder if its moving up and staying in the Top 20 because it utilizes the balance board

I would be a little surprised if that was true. Only some of the mini-games actually use the Wii Balance Board.

Well what do you know, Wii games are back on top since there are no new release or is it because school holidays are over ? /sarcasm

GH 3 bundled with a guitar is sold at 50 € . If you need an extra guitar buying the game is a good deal.

Actually about 1/2 the game uses the balance board (there are some dual games which can use either the wiimote or the balance board if you have it, in addition to the ones which are balance board only)

But much like Shaun White Snowboarding (which is still in the charts), the Wii Fit tie-in could be helping it a great deal

The Panda & Indy pack for 360 is £20 with a controller when you buy any machine. Basically it's like Wii Play and is not a gague of how many people want the game, but how many people want a cheap 2nd controller. This is ONLY with new hardware though (unless you are really nice to the store staff).

Indy by itself is about £10-£15 and selling Ok too tho.

Fallout 3 selling better on the Ps3? Strange...
Yeah for last week only. I was shopping, it wasn't cheaper than 360 or PC in most of shops like £5 more on PS3. Maybe there was special exclusive store offer I may have missed out.

It's still selling systems. ;)

But thanks for the explanation. I didn't know it was cheap and packed in with a controller.

Halo 3 is a great game, there's nothing to be ashamed of.

I don't disagree. I only say that because Halo 3 came out, oh...a year and 2 months ago and already has 9 million sold. I thought they would be done selling that by now.

Halo 3 and COD4 back in? Holy shit.

Hang in there Mirror's Edge (even though I have the PS3 version).
I'd like to know where everyone is buying COD4 from.

Suspiciously, I haven't seen it anywhere since about... uhh... November...

We still have it down here. But I think you can only buy the Game of the Year Edition here now.

Can't wait for COD4-2

Might be very quiet week (aka back to school, lol), lot of old titles on new entries at the bottom and top part are steady.

Wish we have real numbers. Award or comment from CT are not good enough.

Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit probably have sold more than that and look at their sales... Call of Duty definitely stole Halo's thunder as the biggest fps franchise, but it's still one of the first games to buy for 360 for many people, so no surprise there.

It was a quiet week, look at CT's comments.

I believe that CoD4 has recently been on offer in PC World/Currys, which might explain its reappearance.

Also given Halo's stature I think its just one of those games that you feel compelled to pick-up as a new 360 owner (and I'm guessing there are quite a few folks in the UK who got one for Xmas and are now ready to start adding to their library). Thinking about it the same could be said for CoD4. :/

Gears of War 2 continues to impress, I really didn't think it'd be hanging around the Top 10 for this long.

They have tons of them at my local Best Buy. In fact, I went in to buy COD WaW when ti was on sale for $34.99, and COD4 GOTY Edition was still $59.99. That thing is making a killing.

COD has always been bigger than Halo, and around longer.

Ummm no. Halo CE was released in Nov 2001, COD1 in Nov 2003. And it wasn't bigger until Modern Warfare.
Incorrect. Call of Duty 2 is where the game started getting really popular. Remember, Call of Duty 2 was more popular than Microsoft's very own Perfect Dark Zero at the 360 launch and for some time after.

COD2 was nowhere near as popular as Halo 2. Hell, Halo 2 held firm grip on XBL until GOW1 launched, back when there weren't separate lists for 360 and Xbox 1 games. I know there was PC version of COD2, but even then, combined it sold 3-4M copies? versus Halo 2's 8M.

Huzzah! Good to see this continuing to climb upwards :) The better the sales, the higher the chance Nintendo's deal with HarperCollins will expand and more titles will become available for download.
