Well, a man kept a woman at gunpoint, but the gun was in fact a Master System pistol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

She owed him 42 reais (~ 15 US$), so he decided to collect the money with the Master System's Light Phaser pistol :lol :lol

This happened at Brazil, where the MS is still available in retail stores (sans the pistol but he managed to find one) here's the original news in portuguese:

� interessante notar que a maioria dos fatos bizarros sobre o mundo nerd n�o ocorrem no Brasil. Isso se deve porque ainda temos uma cultura em desenvolvimento, principalmente no que se refere a games. Mas estamos chegando l�, como prova a not�cia a seguir.

Um homem de 42 anos manteve como ref�m uma mulher de 60 anos neste �ltimo s�bado, no Distrito Federal. Segundo o G1, o homem cobrava uma d�vida de 42 reais da senhora e decidiu invadir a sua casa para obter o dinheiro � for�a. A pol�cia foi chamada e, depois de 10 horas, a ref�m foi libertada.

Uma coisa que ningu�m percebeu, nem mesmo o sujeito que atualiza as fotos do G1, � que ele estava segurando uma pistola Light Phaser, aquela mesma do saudoso Master System! Confira a imagem na galeria.

Agora, me digam uma coisa... Como � que ningu�m reconheceu o brinquedo? N�o � poss�vel que ningu�m reconhe�a aquilo l�, j� que o Master System vendeu mais do que �gua de coco na praia de Copacabana em v�spera de ano novo, especialmente aqui no Brasil. Ser� que esses policiais n�o tiveram inf�ncia, ou nem mesmo algum filho/primo/sobrinho que tinha o console?

Repetindo a piada que surgiu na internet gozando o fato, principalmente no Kotaku, ningu�m saiu ferido da situa��o. At� porque a pistola n�o estava ligada ao console.

Atualiza��o - O Corrales e eu ficamos imaginando qual deve ter sido a rea��o da pol�cia ao ver a arma do sujeito. Segue o que acreditamos que tenha passado pela cabe�a deles.

Now i'll say something....How is it possible nobody recognized the toy? It's not possible that nobody recognized that which the Master System sells more than the coconut water on the beach of Copacabana in New Years especially in Brazil. Can in be that this police don't have children, or not even a son/cousin/nephew that had the console?
