Preordering doesnt even cost anything.. Its just putting money down on it and helps publishers/devs gauge interest in the game and what the retailer should order so it saves both sides money in terms of printing copies and distribution of the game. Plus its a thing they do to people who truly want the game .. the people who are willing to part with $5.00 of the game price a bit earlier to get the game.Click said:All kidding aside though, it really is a bullshit practice where certain devs allow GS/EB to have exclusive in-game content, forcing people to pre-order shit just to unlock/DL this stuff.
Sucker Punch is locking out an in-game weapon for inFamous in support of this garbage trend.

are you defending that practice, locking out content in a game I paid for just because I didn't pre order it at GS is the dumbest thing I ever heard. It should be illegalTurtleSnatcher said:Preordering doesnt even cost anything.. Its not like preorder bonuses are the developer and retailer colluding to ruin your life by forcing you to go to the store one time prior and spend 5 mins doing so..

Actually, as it always goes: If you have a problem, stop shopping at GameStop.dorkimoe said:and its the developers who are doing it, not gamestop, you think gamestop is creating the codes? no contact the devs if you have a problem
ZealousD said:Either you've worded this oddly or you don't understand why this happens.
These preorder bonuses help the devs first. More people buying on day one means more people buying their game at the maximum price point rather than waiting. More preorders also means that GameStop will buy more copies of their game to sell.
And where are 9 out of 10 people going to preorder their games? GameStop.
If you're going to buy a game on day one anyway, what's the hurt in preordering? It costs nothing and it helps the developers. Is it because you're boycotting GameStop because some employee had the audacity to pitch you a discount card or asked you to preorder some game?
TurtleSnatcher said:A lot of the preorder bonuses as of late though have been much more game related.. Like an exclusive level or gun or etc etc.

Or EA Sports Active has like access to Bob Greene's website.. or UFC has exclusive fighters, or Art book for BlazBlue, or Power Blades or something for InFamous..
