Capcom considering to make Ace Attorney Investigations a series of its own

This news is a week old but I did a search here and nothing comes up. still, lock if its old to you guys

Anyway, according to court-records (who obtained the information through translating the original interview in Japanese), "Ace Attorney Investigations: Mile Edgeworth" is not just a subsequent title to the Ace Attorney games, but it may be a start of its own series. Considering the reaction from the game fans, Capcom will probably make another AAI game.

In short, they might make a sequel to Ace Attorney Investigations: Mile Edgeworth if the fans reaction continues to be good, along with continuing the main series in the form of Ace Attorney 5.

As for Ace Attorney 5 itself, there is no real update (guess they're waiting for the AAI fever to die down in Japan first) but Eshiro (director of AAI) is talking to Minae Matsukawa (main series producer), and hope that he can participate in AA5 as well.

The Phoenix Wright trilogy was good and well-received, so it makes sense to create a spinoff series from it while simultaneously continuing the main series.

It certainly sold well enough to warrant its own series.
Nowhere near as much as Apollo Justice, but certainly respectable numbers.

Not surprised really, the clue was in the name itself (Why else would "Miles Edgeworth" be a subtitle :D)

You realize that's not what it's called in Japan, right?

In Japan, it's just called Gyakuten Kenji.

Yeah true, but there is obviously a reason why they chose to have a subtitle in the English name ;)

Probably so they don't paint themselves into a corner like they almost did with the original Ace Attorney series. I think it was more a reaction to lessons learned with the original series than some sort of independent forethought informed by secret Japanese development information.

okay, but please don't make this one of those AAI for DS, AAI for iPhone, AAI: Chop till you Drop Wii, etc. tests, then say it won't be a series because the iPhone version didn't sell.

Not waiting much from AA5 as Apollo Justice was a big disappointment after PW3, but really waiting for AAI and I really hope it's good enough to be enjoyed for a whole series of games.

Sounds like an attempt to keep most of the original cast while expanding the new cast in AA5.

Apollo is a great game; not nearly as epic as 3, but still an outstanding game. Can't for Investigations or AA5 ^^

Finally received my copy of Gyakuten Kenji. I'll be playing through it as soon as I finish up MGS: The Twin Snakes. (Needless to say, this is taking quite a bit of restraint on my part: I absolutely LOVE the GS series, and Edgeworth is my favorite character in the series. But I want to make sure that I enjoy the game without distraction!)

Despite the fact that I still play most games in japanese (even after moving back to the states), I still strongly dislike playing adventure games in Japanese, especially ones with a lot of humor. So much of it is lost on me, even when I understand what they're saying.

AA5 was announced to be in production right after AA4 came out in Japan. Most likely will be shown at TGS this year, and out next year.

All I want for Christmas is a console version of Ace Attorney.

Space Ghost did NOT count.

Didnt count, but it was fun

Also more Phoenix Wright stuff is good. Ill take two seperate games. Wonder if it will be more Apolo or more Phoenix on AA5

That's what I'm worried about... =/

Capcom announced it slightly more than 2 years ago and we haven't heard much since. I assume they didn't want to steal the spotlight from Ace Attorney Investigations in Japan, hence the silent. We might hear something from TGS09, because AAI buzz will have die in Japan by then.
