We can all agree that the "future of hip-hop" thread kinda BECAME this and to kinda keep that seperate and not fuck it up anymore, here's your all things boom bap thread. Reccomendations? New mixtape just dropped? Is Reasonable Doubt still the best Jay album (Of course it is, don't debate this, I'm just making a fucking example >:[ )

To kick it off right, one of my most anticipated albums for this year:
spj7ux.jpg

Kid Cudi - You Can Call Me Moon Man
Going off Wiki, this is the last track on his album.

Alternative Hip-Hop not your shit? Everbody's favorite coke rappers bring us some new shit (typical clipse, fucking dirty ass beat UNF):
xkujya.jpg

Clipse - Warning (It's off a mixtape)

Also, SLAUGHTERHOUSESLAUGHTERHOUSESLAUGHTERHOUSESLAUGHTERHOUSE.

wasnt dissing, didnt even know it was young buck haha. just thought id quote it since it is the theme of the thread and all

and if it 1ups the cool i will be in heaven. im expecting it to match it...but 1upping will be hard.

No one is bumping Mos Def's new album? Love the sound of it. No hooks and almost no guest, just creative beats and rapping

Nice thread Tokubetsu. So my first recommendation to everybody is to listen to:Mos Def - The Ecstatic. Its got amazing production and very different.

Also be on the lookout for the new Reflection Eternal (Hi-tek & Talib Kweli) album, the first single & video have already been released.

The Clipse have already been mentioned but go listen to their second album Hell Hath No Fury, tracks like Chinese New Year, Keys Open Doors and Nightmares certified the album as a hiphop classic.

It would be great if we made a thread where we collected all the good shit that's been released since the 80s up to today. There have been so many gems released that it's hard to find them on your own. Anyone up for it?

The Ecstatic definitely grew on me. At first I wasn't digging it too much besides Auditorium god damn there are some awesome tracks on there. No Hay Nada Mas being my favorite. Also, One of my favorite album arts of the year:

Real talk though, all of you should be eagerly anticipating the Buckshot & KRS-One album that drops in September. Here is the first and amazing single:

P.S. SLAUGHTERHOUSE

I'd be down to contribute but someone would need to take the lead. Never thought of my TOP 3 FOREVER Hip-Hop albums but Slim Shady LP and Illmatic are definitely up there.

4. When the fuck is Reflection Eternal's second album (Train of Thought 2?) coming?

5. What are ya'lls top 3 Hip Hop albums?

4. The album name is changed to Revolutions Per Minute. Dunno about release date though.

5. Jay-Z-The Blueprint, Nas-Illmatic and M.O.P.-Firing Squad.

It was gonna come out in August, week of my birthday too but they pushed it back ='(. I'm just glad we're finally gonna get it. His latest mixtape, Blood on The Chef's Apron was great as well.

We could ask Blackace, he's a big fan of west coast hip hop. Having a mod create the thread and lay out the rules would help and keep trolls out. It'd keep "my favorite artist is better than your favorite artist" bullshit at a minimum too.

This is now my new favorite thread-
Dre's stuff has to be on that list somewhere (The Chronic ,2001)

For me, my most anticipated albums this year would be Jeezy (is Thug Motivation 103 hitting this year?), Drake (if he goes harder than hes been going lately, and stops being a sellout to the ladies), Cudi, Lupe, and JayZ

i pray for another kanye album but i dont see it happening since hes going on his big 808s tour soon. oh well

Pretty sure he's been in the studio and besides his 808s tour, he's focusing on pushing the dudes on his label. Big Sean, GLC, Consequence, Kid Cudi ALL drop albums this year. My bet, Cons and GLC are gonna get shelved or pushed well into 010. Which is a shame because Cons' debut was slept on and GLC can shine. In case you don't know who they are...go listen to "Spaceship" off of College Dropout.

Is Lupes album dropping this year?

But anyway albums i'm looking forward to when they drop: Clipse, Jay Z, Lupe, J.Cole (if his The Warm Up Mixtape is anything to go by, it's going to be big) and Drake/Cudi to see if it's any good.

Tokubetsu, what Mixtape is that new Clipse tune from?

His verses on Make Her Say, Run This Town, Digital Girl... and there's one other I am forgetting that he did recently... make me really want a Kanye rap album.

Damn that's too bad, Quence is definitely my most anticipated this year.

How come every leaked Slaughterhouse song has been average to bad?
ya, I don't know man- I wouldn't call any of them bad; theyre just all pretty good-average; Nothing memorable imo tho

I still think their cds gonna be dope

Im bumpin La Coka Nostra right now. Feelin that shit more than i thought i would.

Patiently waiting for Tech N9ne's K.O.D.
I fucking love LCN... they go so hard

Malice is a fav of mine, dude far exceeds his brother Pusher-T. He's on some next level sh*t lyrically, but is low key.

He's got a certain sophistication to his raps, even if it's only coke rap.

Malice (Got it for cheap - HHNF):

The wall's removed and now I see
My leg was pulled, the joke's on me
So heartbreakin, like lovin a whore
Might hurt ya once, but never no more
It's like tryin to fly but they clippin your wings
And that's exactly why the caged bird sings
Who can nickname it, the shame rings true
Seems to me reperations are overdue
I done been to the top, I done sipped the juice
And with that bein said, bird crumbs'll never do
Even on my last not a penny in the bank
I'ma stand on my own, so thanks but no thanks
Keep the pranks as I bid farewell
I gotta answer to Marcus and Jennel
And to little brother Terrence who I love dearly so
If ever I had millions never would you sell blow, never

Niggaz don't get the picture, it's written in scripture
Even ask your mama, she'll tell you that blood's thicker
And I don't know how them other niggaz built
And I don't know if ever they feel guilt
Or maybe niggaz just too high on they stilts
But this one's on me, I'ma view it as spilt milk
Grandma look at me, I'm turnin the other cheek
It's the R-E-U-P G-A-N-G

Kid Cudi's album drops next month. Some of the songs were on his mixtapes but I don't care I'm still gonna get it.

Nice thread, Tokubetsu. It should have been created a long time ago.

Not sure how it's going to turn out, but I'm looking forward to the new Lupe Fiasco album.

Edit: hell yes on the Kid Cudi. I've been listening to the mixtape for a while, loving it.

Eagerly awaiting Drake, CuDi, and Lupe! I'd kill for a new Kanye rap album though. His rhymes can suck but the track is always catchy as hell. However, like someone else said, his verses on Make Her Say and Digital Girl were badass.

Slaughterhouse makes Joe Budden bareable for me. I'm digging both tracks Ive heard "One" being pretty good IMO. On the note of Clipse, I could listen to We Got It For Cheap from "Hell Hath No Fury" forever. Such a fucking amazing album opener. It's up there with N.Y. State of Mind for just awesome YEA LET ME GO IN RIDICULOUS AND SET THE TONE FOR THE ALBUM RIGHT OFF THE MOTHERFUCKING BAT.

Sittin' bent up in the stairway.
