OGame is a text-based, resource-management and space-war themed massively multiplayer online browser game with over two million accounts. OGame was created in 2000 and is produced and maintained by Gameforge AG. OGame is available in multiple languages, and different nationalities have their own communities. The game does not differ between the nationality communities except in rare cases. Players are generally informed of news and other things such as changes in rules or new versions through the official forums.

The NeoGAF Ogame Alliance is located in the Capella Universe, in the English version of the game.
Whenever you register for the first time, remember to choose Capella or else you will be in a different Universe (think of it as a different Server). Once you are done, join the Alliance as soon as possible!.

How to Join the Alliance?
Joining our Alliance is very easy! Just follow these steps:

Click on Network (left menu).
You will have a menu with three tabs. Click on Search.
Choose Alliances/-Tags
Search for NeoGAF
You will have an option to send request. Send it!.

You will be accepted asap!.
Warning: If you wanna join the Alliance, you will first have to notify us here so we know you are an actual GAF user and not someone random trying to get into the Alliance.

At first this game might seem pretty overwhelming for many people, because it's much more complex than many other browser based games. But if you follow some simple basic rules at the beginning, it will be just that much easier!. Here you have a step-by-step of what's suggested to do in the first few days:

Other than that, whenever you need help just post here and everybody will try to help you out!.

As of right now the Alliance consists of 108 members and keeps growing on a daily basis!. Join us!!.

- Space Pirates Alliance (ICE). We have a treaty of peace with this Alliance. That means we won't attack each other, and in case of big wars, we will ally and attack together.

The Alliance has not participated in any battle yet.

Ya, at first it looks like a very simple going browser game.
HOWEVER if you want to get anywhere in that game, it's a super time consuming thing =/ I think i'll pass this time

Nice. Remember to join the Capella Universe in the default language (English, if you choose other languages it brings you to other Universes as well).

Send an application and I'll accept you as soon as possible (I will be around here for a couple hours so no problem).

Might as well bump this thread now whist we're still early on in the game. We currently only have 6 members and it would be nice to boost our alliance by a few players.

As browser strategy games go, I'm finding this one quite interesting - especially since you can see your resources increasing live. Because of this, my attention is being held much more that in games where you only see the boost once every hour or so. Judging by the number of GAF Hackcess players there should be more than a few people here who will enjoy this game. Also there appears to be a hell of a lot of depth after playing for a few day so there isn't much to lose (except your time but timewasting is what most people use the internet for anyway).

Yep. In this game you start improving your planet and getting some technologies and ships.. but at the end you are sending ships through galaxies, getting new colonies (planets), participating in some real star wars..

And all from your browser.. quite awesome if you ask me.

BTW, I just noticed you are on Galaxy 2! :lol :lol The rest of the team is in Galaxy 1, just different systems. Not that that's bad, though

In my current system (113), out of the 15 available planets, 8 are taken.. and I'm getting surrounded by people from the same alliance.. I'm a bit scared

I will try to send them some message and try to get in good traits with them.

I'm in that galaxy probably because I joined half a day later than you and the slots from the first had all been taken up. Regarding solar systems, I'm currently sharing with 5 others. Only slots 4 to 12 are habitable as a home planet and you have to upgrade a certain type of research if you want to set up colonies on the 6 outer and inner planets.

Another important thing about planet location is that the ones closest to the sun can draw the most solar energy, whilst the ones furthest away can extract deuterium the fastest. I'm residing on number 12 so it's probably harder for me to keep up with basic energy demands than other home planets.

I just got an email back from the other Alliance saying there was no problem, and they would keep the treaty of peace. Sweet!

The Alliance tag is ICE, they are Rank 5. Just if you see them, don't do anything weird

Actually the other guy from that Alliance just sent me a buddy request. I guess if we are in trouble we might be able to ask them for help (of course, not right now, but if we keep being friends, in a couple weeks/months we should be able to ask for that kind of help as well

)

You can take your time and still be able to colonize other planets and whatnot. Of course, the more time you spend on it, the more stuff you'll be able to do.

But even then, sometimes you have to wait hours to get some stuff built and whatnot, so you should not have to worry much.

I personally have lots of things to do, so now 'cause I'm still on vacation, I can spend more time, but whenever I get back to school I'll check the site maybe just a couple times a day. Even doing that you can keep up with everything 'easily'. Just follow some guidelines/plan, and that's about it.

EDIT - Who's McRae? If you wanna join the Alliance, you will have to send a request by yourself.

Just had a look around on Google and I don't think there's an app for it but it apparently is playable in the browser, although you have to manually change the skin for it to render properly.

Go to Resources on the left menu. Then in the center you'll see a drawing of a "city", right? It should say 'Resource Settings'. Click there. It will tell you how much you obtain per hour/day/week. You don't get all resources for each hour all of a sudden, but instead you keep getting them every second, so if you need 20 metal and you obtain 40 metal per hour, you can get back in 30 mins and you will have the 20 metal there.

Click the icon just to the right of 'Resources'. Also, follow this building guide early on.

Another way to see individual resource details is to mouse over the pictures of each one at the top. (May not work in Chrome)
