Yes, I know that anime lately sucks a lot, but it used to be a great medium.

And the last decent/great top favorite anime thread is from Neolore, and that is almost 3 years old. So lets do it again...

I'm not a serious anime watcher, but Cowboy Bebop is bloody amazing. So is FMA.

If you mean anime 2006-till now, I agree completely with you, but dont forget that anime has also treasures (like videogame has treasures like zelda ocarina of time, deus ex, ...). Cowboy bebop for example

Sometimes I think I only like Hokuto No Ken in an ironic sort of way, though Berserk's anime and manga are shining beacons compared to anything else I've seen.

Uuuhm, what else? Dunno, as I said, I don't watch anime that often, so I tend to forget. Might get back to ya' on it.

Okay seriously I think I have to go with the Japanese version of Cardcaptor Sakura. Its like the only thing I found that can be so charming, sugary, warm, funny and fuzzy and not be typically annoying about it. No blood, mature bad ass characters so I dont think gaf could handle it.

Don't really care about anime that much, especially when most of the shonen stuff (that I'm interested in) are based on manga and the manga originals are faster-paced, more coherent than their anime counterparts.

But I've recently seen a lot of Ghibli films and found them to be really nice. Also, 5 Centimeters Per Second by Makoto Shinkai is a visual feast.

I don't feel I have enough experience with anime (as much as I love the good stuff) to make a meaningful "top ten" list, but some series I absolutely adore are:

- Berserk (the manga is pretty mind-blowing so far, too)
- Cowboy Bebop
- Samurai Champloo
- Azumanga Daioh
- Record of Lodoss War (I PASSED UP A $20 "like new" copy of the no-longer-in-print Collector's Edition DVD set UUUUURRRRGGGGGGGG)
- The Tower of Druaga (all Record of Lodoss War fans: watch this)
- Darker than Black
- Gurren Lagann
- FLCL

And of course all the Miyazaki movies.

I saw a little bit of Hakaba no Kitaro fan-subbed and really liked it. I also have a healthy respect for the UC universe Gundam stuff. (The rest can die in a fire.)

Also, action fans: watch Sword of the Stranger.

Yeah can't think of any thing else. I tried watching Beebop, but it just didn't click, Ploo is and will forever be my favorite, it's also the only series I own!
