Spoiler-Free E3 conference bookmark HQ of eccentricity

The aim of this thread is to be a safe place for GAFers to bookmark so that when they're in school/work/exams during the live press conferences they can come home and have links provided for them without fear of all the biggest surprised being spoiled. Please refrain from posting spoiler details in here - that, for us, is basically anything that happened during the press conferences. You have dozens of other threads to do that in! :)

I will be watching Microsoft live, so I can add that, but for Sony and Nintendo I have exams that day, so you may need to rely on the generosity of others!

FAQ:
Q: Do you really care about spoilers? That's the point of E3!
A: Lots of GAFers enjoy watching the press conferences and the reveltation of new games. If we know what's going to be announced, it will take away a lot of the fun of E3. To those who don't attend the press conferences are the best things about the show!

Q:
How will you avoid being spoiled once they've aired! The news will be everywhere!
A: Read this post!

I dunno if you're new here, but...
News is gonna be all over the front page of this forum.

As it is every year, official threads cannot contain E3. They never have and they never will.

Yes but if we bookmark this thread we avoid the announcements, you see.

And yes, I care about "spoilers" as do many other GAFers. A lot of the excitement watching the conferences is not knowing what will be shown :)

Before they get to watch the keynotes / media summits themselves, yes - people will care. Then again, why would people snoop around on GAF during E3 if they were trying to avoid spoilers?

Well, this can work, it shouldn't be too hard to manage an E3 summary in the first post with links and all ..

but people are going to have to be disciplined. :lol

I don't think you get it.

1) Bookmark the thread (You don't have to go to the front page of the forum)
2) Thread is updated with links to places where you can watch the conferences (without spoilers)
3) Watch the conferences and enjoy the video without knowing what is going to be announced, etc.
4) Join in on the rest of the discussion once you've been able to watch the conferences on your own time.

Where else is there to go? Gamespot, IGN? Those headlines will be EVERYWHERE. GAF is quite a nice community so I believe we can compile a few links so that we won't have to "browse" - simply come to this thread.

That's something that I don't think a lot of people are understanding. I plan to bookmark this thread and then on the day of the press conferences when I can't watch them live due to exams, I'll go to my favourites and read only this thread. Hopefully I won't encounter any spoilers that way. :D

Exactly this ^ :)

If you're really concerned about having E3 "ruined" for you then you might want to avoid Gaf and the internet all together and make a list of the streams before it starts...

Bookmarked!

Thanks, i'll come here during E3 to download the confrences. This is a great idea, I don't like having the trailers or announcements spoiled.

This is weird...people are going to be making entire threads about the biggest surprises of e3.

Also...people care about being spoiled...at e3? How does that even work? I'm legitimately confused.

See post #10. Can't be more clear than that.

I definitely approve of this thread. Probably not gonna be able to watch any of the conferences live. Will rely on this page for recorded links before clicking ANY website.

Thank you.

I was just thinking of who I could PM to ask to link me to an uploaded video of the 3 conferences whenever they're available. I will bookmark this thread, since I'm going to have to miss at least one conference.

I assume the OP will be updated as they become available?

Yeah it's a good idea, saves on the clutter of having to find a link and ruining the fun of the surprises by searching through the forum

Neat idea, but I want to be around for all the GAF reactions as much as the announcements themselves. I'll be following the liveblogs through the GAF OTs like I did last year while at work, then if any still seem interesting enough I'll watch them after the fact.

Good luck to those that are avoiding spoilers though.:D

This thread will most likely die, well before E3 even starts.

As long as the OP is updated when links become available...who gives a shit?

Not everyone can check GAF while at work/other appointments. Obviously we'd all rather watch them all live while furiously F5ing GAF to post the same thing 700 times. But unfortunately not all of us can for all of the conferences.

I'm confused as to how there are still some posters not understanding the concept. This isn't a thread for people who don't want to follow E3 news. This ia a thread for people who will be out during the day of the conferences, and want a way to watch the conferences when they get home, ready for the megatons to be dropped on them, without having already read them on IGN, Gamespot, etc, etc.

I was looking for something exactly like this, yesterday. Thanks!

bookmarked.

I probably won't be able to watch the MS or Nintendo conferences live and was hoping to find somewhere I could download and watch without knowing what happened. Hopefully this thread works out (I'm going to miss the gaf meltdowns and multiple pages with nothing but "Zelda Wii!!1!1!" or "OMGZ PSP2" as the replies though).

Yeah, it's why we can't have nice things like in music and movies.

Secrecy means too much to the manbabies in the press and on gaming forums. It's why we get announcements of announcements, closed theater presentations, and 10 second CGI teaser trailers.

The retardation concerning spoilers continues. And as sprsk said there will be threads all over the place about the bigget announcments.

To me, the fun of E3 is people tripping over each other trying to be the first to scream out the big news, and the ensuing 2 pages of nothing but "ZoMG"

No offense everyone but when E3 rolls around doesn't the whole forum combine to one? So much info is bombarded in threads the bandwidth despite best efforts breaks. If anyone is lucky enough to even post during that time I wish you the best.

The "Nerds making fun of other nerds in order to look less like a nerd"-phenomenon is one of the most funniest things in the world.

Actually, I wonder why some people in here are watching the conferences to begin with. If they only care about the announcements and not about that special "conference feeling", they can simply wait until GAF is full of information about the interesting news, instead of watching conferences which to the most part are boring anyway.

I like this idea. I'm always working during E3 and so will usually read up on what's going on and end up knowing what's been announced before being able to watch any of the presentations. Being able to stream them without knowing what'll be shown will certainly be more enjoyable.

Just not sure if I'll be disciplined enough to not check out GAF or other sites until after work.
