What is the status of This Is Vegas?

Anyone remember this game?

I know Midway has since filed for bankruptcy, but has anyone heard any recent news about the status of This Is Vegas?

According to Wikipedia: "The title was originally in development at Midway Games through their subsidiary Surreal Software. Due to the publisher's financial troubles in 2009 the company sold certain assets to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment which included This is Vegas and developer Surreal Software. Midway spent between $40 million and $50 million developing This Is Vegas."

The video makes This Is Vegas seem like a really cool "GTA in Vegas" experience that expands on the usual GTA themes by including things a full gambling simulator, MMA fights, etc. And as the Wiki article confirmed, a lot of money was obviously pumped into the making of the game.

But I haven't heard a peep about This Is Vegas in ages. Does WB have any plans to eventually release it?

I figure if anyone will know, it'll be someone here on GAF. :D I'm crossing my fingers for some good news, because this game looks like it could be a lot of fun.

The game's being delayed and it's title has been changed to The Hangover 2: The Official Video Game. :lol
From what I have heard, that isn't too far off. But it is canceled now.

EDIT: Typo by the publisher name
Thanks for an actual helpful reply instead of the usual neogaf snark.

I hope this game does indeed see the light of day and it lives up to its potential. The videos look great, and it's certainly an awesome concept overall. I'm surprised no one else has really tried doing a full-fledged Vegas "sandbox" game.

LMAO. I was really looking forward to that game, but hey we cannot have cake and ice cream, too.

To bad for Midway. They will never know how many copies would have been pushed with this new IP. It could of help them.

The game was cancelled in fall/late 2009. Surreal Software then worked on some animations and characters for Snowblind's LotR: War in the North. In December/January, there were some layoffs and departures and in June 2010 the studio was closed down. 4 years of work went directly into the bin.
That's at least what I heard.
