I wish I could hat you to death

I picked this up a week back because it was on sale, and it said no alcohol. "Kills germs with no burning?", I says in my head. How could I go wrong. I was dead wrong. This thing is a train wreck, on a boat, in space, covered in bees, and bees are on fire. I dont know what they put inside it but it will screw up your taste buds for the ENTIRE DAY. Anything I ate, sweet or salty was dulled and replaced with this weird taste I cannot decribe. Ive heard people say that drinking grapefruit juice or other high acidic drinks would help, but there is no way Im trying it again. Id hate to see if there were any long term effects. I will never complain about listerines sting ever again.

Last time I tried this stuff, a thick white film formed in my mouth. It took me a half hour to scrape out. Yum. Never again.

I tried this shit the other night. I lasted about 10 seconds before I spit it out. My inner cheeks hurt like hell for hours afterwards, and some of the pain took a few days to go away.

Sounds like hydrogen peroxide. If this claims to be a teeth whitener amongst other things, that is likely the active ingredient.

The burning sensation in your mouth means it's working!

I thought this was pulled off the market, wtf?

I made the mistake of using this shitty shit once. The horrible taste didn't go away for a whole day (including brushing 5 separate times solely to try to get the nasty out of my mouth)

We've used this a few times and have had no ill effects. We did try this purple Listerine and left lingering gum pain, but I'm using Listerine Whitening now and that builds up a film after 20 minutes.

Take it from a mouthwash aficionado.

From Amazon:

"Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

Wonder if it has to do with angry customers? 231 reviews on a mouthwash product at 1 1/2 stars? :lol :lol

I don't get it, mouth wash doesn't even burn that much. Do you guys just sit around and eat cow shit all day, until your mouth is so full of germs mouth wash feels like taking an acid bath?

real men use Dr. Pepper.

The Pro Health toothpaste actually hurts my teeth. Stopped using it after one use and switched back to Colgate.

i've had no problem using their toothpaste. as a matter of fact i bought the 2 pack :lol.

But i love buying shit that says "NEW" on the cover.

For some people, this Crest shit really does burn like hell. It's a terrible product with so many potential side effects.

:lol I knew this thread would eventually deliver the goods.

Holy shit, my mom was having severe issues with tasting metal and burning in the mouth (to the point where she couldn't eat) for a prolonged period of time last year, and the doctors had no answers. Could the active ingredient in this stuff, Cetylpyridinium chloride, be the cause?

Just use ACT alcohol free mouthwash instead. Been using it for a long time, never have any cavities or negative comments at semi-annual cleanings.

If doctors don't know, how the fuck would we know?

But yeah, sure, probably.

Dentist can remove the stain, don't think you can on your own.

You can't. You have to have a dentist scrape it off.

Ditto and not only that, I lost my sense of taste for about a week. I was terrified I'd never get it back.

Why do you use mouthwash?

I've asked a few times at the dentist if its recommended. They said no. Brush and floss. That's it.

nnnooooo.

This is what the bottle says (which I should have fucking read weeks ago):

"In some cases, antimicrobial rinses may cause surface staining to the teeth. This is not permanent or harmful, and may be prevented by adequate brushing or removed at your next dental visit."

FUUUU

haha, she doesnt even use it, i use listerine all the time, but she thinks shes doing me a favor. I tell her and she'll just say "you do the damn shopping" and that usually ends the conversation... same thing when she ruins a shirt in the laundry... its an instant win conversation ender

Yeah it's weird; doesn't seem to affect my wife so I let her use the tube :lol

I'd get these jarring sensations near some of my teeth when I brushed with this stuff but it was fine as soon as I switched back to Colgate.

GAF response - maybe you should actually brush your teeth more then once a month and your teeth wouldnt hurt when you finally cleaned them you disgusting freak.

basically every oral hygiene thread in GAF devolved to this

Very weird dentist. ACT mouthwash prevents & protects your gums against gingivitis.

They said the alcohol mouthwash can cause oral cancers, and if you brush and floss properly there's no real benefits to using it, even the alcohol free ones.

Liu Kang Baking A Pie said:
Yeah it's garbage. Leaves your mouth tasting like metal for a week, and it also actually makes your teeth brown. Bacteria builds up and turns into brown crap between your teeth. And of course, you think the nasty taste in your mouth and the brown teeth mean you need to rinse more, so you use it more and make it worse.

Check out those nasty reviews.
Any chance they're using the same stuff that is in Crest White Strips?

After 6 strips the back of my teeth are brown. :-/

I've been using the generic Target form of this for the past two years without any issues.

I didn't have an issue with it, but my fiance is clearly allergic to something in it.

And no, the mouthwash is not gonna cause cancer because it contains alcohol but it is true that Listerine was invented THEN they tried to figure out ways it actually helps your hygiene. It does in fact help kill some germs in your mouth but it's not a must like floss and brushing.
