Women As Desktop Backgrounds

Does anyone else feel like they are creepy/awkward? I mean, I love women and find Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, that one fat hippo
Christina Hendricks
from Mad Men, and all the other GAF favorites attractive but I feel like having them as my desktop background is super weird. Especially in class or when I'm having family/friends/girlfriend over and they go on or look at my computer. Anyone else feel like this? It seems like the desktop background thread is dominated by people with half-naked girls as their background. I just dot get it.

I have Windows7-tan as my log in screen and even I would find having a 3D woman as the desktop image disturbing.

I've had this:

FOAzul.jpg

as my wallpaper for months now. But that's as far as I'd ever go. Having a picture of some real woman(unless it's your girlfriend/wife, I suppose) seems weird. :lol

Its really weird to see in public, of course its not a big deal, but I would be embarrassed to have something like that on my laptop in class.

Anything sexualized as a desktop is kind of tacky in my opinion. Then again my background is nothing but black.

I had a woman background in my woman studies class and the topic was Women marketing their sexuality. The girls behind me all thought that women should find more meaningful jobs while they were discussing that I kept flashing my half naked Playboy bunny of the month in front of them.

I think it's pretty tacky. Kind of like swimsuit posters in your room and the like. Of course, i've had my share of doing at, but when I look at photos of my college years, I cringe.

I prefer simple images that are non distracting for my backgrounds.

I just use Windows defaults. Customization's too much of a chore.
Saving an image and setting it as a desktop image is too much on a chore? Really? Quoting and replying to your post probably took more effort.

I rarely have a woman as my wallpaper. If I do it is usually a particularly classy picture, not just because "omg boobs!". This is my most recent featuring a woman:

Yeah, I don't get it. I remember 5 years ago people would put together PSP background download packs, and some of them would be all hot chicks. I would never use them.

For a while I had art from a hentai game as my background.

Shame? What is this word "shame"?

Also think it's super tacky, I'm always surprised when people willingly admit that they have one in wallpaper threads. I've never actually seen one on a friend's computer or in the wild at a Starbucks or airport or whatever.

I've never had a nude or semi nude woman as my desktop. I was always too paranoid somebody might see it. Plus I felt that if I kept seeing the picture too much it'd just lose it's hotness.

Also I thought this thread was going to have pictures, I'm semi disappointed.

This. Also feels like that person is still on puberty trying to show off his taste for hot girls. But I got nothing against it thought.

Pretty much every single wallpaper I post in the desktop thread has a woman in it, and I think creepy is the last thing others conjure up when they see them...

Don't see the problem honestly. If you've got other people using your computer often then I understand avoiding it, but otherwise what's the big deal?

This is how I feel. Back before Windows 7 I'd change my background maybe 3 or 4 times a year, but I'd also change my shell to match the color scheme and such anytime I changed my wallpaper. I generally kept to scenery and design stuff (and still do).

Now I just use the windows 7 default theme and and it shuffling through my wallpapers changing it up every 10 minutes.

Why feel embarassed? The female body is a beautiful thing!

Unless you're picking nude pix or playboy pinups, I don't see the reason to be embarrassed if the pix are tasteful.

Yes, it's a little bit tacky and weird. I've never had one of those. I also find it weird when people have a picture of themselves with family members as a wallpaper.

Might as well have a background that says "I HAVE BEEN SINGLE FOR A LONG TIME"

Though, to be fair, if you're a college student or something it's probably OK. It's the equivalent of having posters of girls up in your room. After you get out of school though, kind of makes you look a little immature.

LOL, judging other gaffers while browsing 142GB porn folder...
I was thinking the same thing. Somehow, looking at women is creepy....unless you're beating your meat with the fury of a thousand exploding suns.

Well, my grandfather has one. Although I also thought it was somewhat unusual I can't blame him. It's not that strange. Never done it myself though.

Okay GAF what about something like these?

Anytime guys have these I immediately think they're trying to make sure everyone understands they're straight and like uninterestingly/expectedly hot women like any straight man should.

It can be immature, I'll grant you that...but there are a lot of immature people out there.

What you are talking about is a crazy amount of inference that has no real grounding.
