No Shame: Sony announces Carnival Island for Move

Trailer

If 2K won't make you a Carnival Games, you get Santa Monica and Magic Pixel to make you a clone...

I guess they were embarrassed to showcase this at E3.

I'd have paid money to see Jack Tretton trot this out on stage.

Still though, it's no more embarrassing than half of MS's conference.

Thank you for not announcing this bullshit on stage. Had more than enough of that with MS's conference.

Kinda wonder if they saw Microsoft's conference and thought "quick, pull it from the show!".

I didn't watch MS's conference. Was it really that bad?

If you love shooters and casual family Kinect games you'll LOVE Microsoft's conference.

Alright, I won't be watching that.

I spotted some kind of Skee-Ball type game in the montage during the beginning of the conference. It looks like this is where it came from.

MS's Kinect stuff was light years ahead of Sony's Move stuff IMO. That said, neither of them were good. If I had a kid though, I'd bank on Kinect.

I know there's not a tonne they can do with this, but we're going Gameloft territory with this.

Does it really matter if its a clone? If its fun as the source then it should be good. I've only played Carnival Games once though.

I'll be looking for some move games eventually so I'll keep my eye on this.

To be unfair to 2K Games, this looks like more fun than Carnival Games... still a clone, even if it never was an original idea.

WHERE IS SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2 YOU SON OF A BITCH

They made that Medieval Moves game instead, it's basically Sports Champions on the run.

How did Santa Monica went from God of War series into... this?

It wasn't bad, it was just boring.
It was the same formula as last year with very quick demos and lots of celebrities and talking; thankfully this time Microsoft mixed up game stuff with services and Kinect stuff, so it wasn't "first several minutes of hardcore games, and then just Kinect stuff". However, there was too much focus on Kinect and its features, and among them were games literally for kids (that Disneyland game and Sesame Street game).

FWIW Magic Pixel has a bunch of former Bloom Blox guys.
My interest is piqued...

/edit: yikes! Just saw the screenshots. Are we sure it's not just carnival games running in the dolphin emulator?

Are you sure it sold that much? I bet it's shipped numbers.
It does not matter fact is its doing well and more new games were announced, and others getting added support. Its not going anywhere.

Edit:Nice pic Takao haha.

So lets recap E3 day 1:

Every single company showed that "Soldier Vs Enemies" game, i guess they all develop it together, so its only fair that every company shows that same game on stage.

Then we had some Wii games made by Sony and Microsoft.

And that wraps it up: the first day at E3

Everybody uses shipped numbers. Not just Sony. Get over it.
I'm sorry but I only see that happening with Sony numbers, but I might be wrong, so sorry.

because you're a dumb troll?
I'm a dumb troll because I didn't know Move sold well, apparently? Well, I guess I still am one.

My kids and I were just playing this, great Move game. It has a Studio Ghibli art style, great 1:1 motion controls and fun games. The story mode is also well done. I'd put it up in the top Move game for younger crowds and parents.
