The 3DS' third-party release line-up seems very poor. I hope that there's a lot more planned for 2012.

...I think whoever put that list together forgot about Fire Emblem.

As in, I'm still waiting to hear about a new one, or at least a US release of the Mystery of the Emblem remake. Curse you, Nintendo!

Sony really need to get the Vita out. Stop fannying about and do a worldwide holiday launch. The dedicated portable might be heading towards "extinction", but Sony must smell Nintendo's blood here.

I'm sure 3DS is going to be fine in the long-term, but Sony has a chance to impose itself. It's so frustrating to hear Tretton talk about "fiscal year" releases. Just get the damn thing on the shelves.

Just barely enough third party support for the 3DS this year with Crush, Cave Story, Shin Megami Tensei, and Resident Evil. Hopefully system sales will boom during the holidays.

I suspect we won't see many more announcements until around TGS.

Probably. This E3 has been shockingly thin on announcements of Japanese-developed games for all platforms, and of course Western support for the platform was never going to be anything but worthless, with rare exceptions. It's still disappointing, though, especially after all the announcements made when 3DS was unveiled last year.

It seems most Japanese publishers have a large enough Western developed line-up that they just show those off at E3 now.

Rayman Origins is listed for 3DS but not Wii. We have had an official confirmation of a Wii version but not yet the 3DS version.

Interesting.

Yes because launching Vita with even less games than 3DS will certainly convince consumers to pick that up....

You've quit gaming, Takao? :(

I was referring to Nintendo gaming software purchases.

There was only 1 Medabots game on PlayStation hardware, so I never expect anything there.

i remember people yelling at me because i said they wouldn't bring over fire emblem 3r. they said this day would never come. what are they to say now?

...also, why the fuck bring over fortune street and make mario party 9? seriously.

edit: actually surprised they're going to really try and make super mario a holiday title in the us.

Doesn't look to good for the Wii.... 3DS also, whats up with that? Are 3rd partys just waiting for long time sales numbers or what?

I was really looking forward to new 3DS announcements from third parties. :( TGS it is, and perhaps more will fill in as the list is completed.

For this year I think I'll be getting Super Mario, Mario Kart, RE: Mercs, Bit.Trip Saga and possibly Kid Icarus. But I mainly picked up a 3DS because I was hoping for the wave of JP-developed third-party stuff that DS enjoyed for years. We all know Western devs aren't going to give a shit about handhelds, or if they are it'll be Vita stuff to pair with the home consoles.

Edit: Oh hey, Rolling Western is an eShop release! That looked intriguing to me, but not as a full retail release. Might snag if it's not too expensive.

Looks like 1st party titles will have to carry another Nintendo handheld. Nintendo is giving 3rd parties almost half a year to have the spotlight and there's very little to show for it in return. I'm sure most 3rd parties will be ready to hop on board once Mario Kart 3DS (Super Mario, Kid Icarus etc) is in the hands of every kid.

I'm kinda surprised that Nintendo dumped everything in the fall/holiday timeslot. Even Star Fox comes out in like September.

And then third parties said: Why, oh why we can´t compete with Nintendo?

Seriously, the 3rd party list is horrific. I just don´t get those guys.

Man that Wii lineup is disappointing. There are literally three games on that list that I'd have ANY interest in playing. 3rd parties just said "fuck it".

Reggie lied! He said Luigi's mansion would be this year!

Is it futile to hold out hope for The Last Story and Xenoblade?
