Tekken 3DS demo footage+interview (Runs at 60fps in 3D mode)

I've never seen ANYTHING 3D run at 60fps.

Might buy it for that reason alone. Hot damn.
Steel Diver, Monkey Ball, and Mario Kart 3D are the only ones I know of that do. Good to know that this will be doing so and looking good at the same time.

in other news, Dead or Alive annihilated

Was expecting it to look quite poor to get to 60fps but the character models at least look pretty damn good >.<

If the actual game runs at 60fps in 3D and looks as good at that demo, it'd be arguably the most technically impressive 3DS game to date. Here's hoping.

Huh? Tekken Hybrid? How did I miss that announcement. Sounds good.

Anyway, 60fps + main Lili included is awesome, I'll check it out. Still need to play DOA, they kind of look similar visually

I still don't understand the deal with this and the Wii U Tekken.
It doesn't look like TTT2, so are they gonna be like T6 ports or something else entirely?

Saw this today as well, still transcribing my interview. It was indeed 60fps in 3D, but it was very much a tech demo. Not sure how that will hold up with the rest of the back end built into the game.

It's either going to be a port of Tekken Tag 2 or a new game. They're using the Tekken Tag 2 version of Heihachi, if that means anything.

SSFIV and even DoA were both rushed launch games. No reason to assume the graphical ability of the 3DS is maxed out by them.

Just loaded up DoA here to compare.. the characters in the Tekken demo seem to have more geometry even.

Given the 3DS has two CPUs and was designed to handle 3D mode, I'd assume the only reason why so many launch games do not run at 60fps in 3D is pure lack of optimization.

Did somebody say 60FPS 3D mode?

Is this the first 3DS fight man game with 60fps in 3D?
I believe so. Impressions I've heard of BlazBlue say the framerate is inconsistent and a bit sluggish when 3D is on. The rest of the fighters we know about are all 30 in 3D.

awww yeah

Well this looks pretty amazing. But it's a tech demo, and I've been burnt by Konami and MGS3D so I'm cautiously optimistic.

with moving backround!

I am still waiting for a fix in the driveway stage music and an AE DLC for 3DS :/

It's pretty obvious that SSFIV 3D is a quick port job and they don't really plan to support it.

Wish there would have been more on this but I guess(hope) thats what TGS is for. Tekken seems like a good fit for the 3DS, I hope the release isn't too far away.

I thought MGS3D ended up looking as good and in some places better than Konami's original demo...?

DOA also looks like it's pushing more polygons and has large multitiered environments as opposed to small static ones.

This looks great

So what do we have left for 3D fighters on the 3DS in an ideal world...
Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter... come on Scamco/Sega!!

And Super Marvel vs Capcom 3 would be nice

Soul Calibur 3D next please
I was thinking maybe we could get some other fighters that probably have little to no chance for a console release. Power Stone, Rival Schools, etc...you know, the "stuff". Smaller budgets on a handheld(generally speaking) could only help in the cause. That sounds too good to happen though :^/

Well Capcom revived MML3 so PowerStone has a chance since it makes since in 3D.

Looks great. Proof most developers either haven't got a good feel for the hardware yet or are just lazy.

Cardboard background people in Street Fighter. I'm going with lazy.

Also, hardware changes during the R&D proccess. There's proof the dev kits were using Tegra 2 at some point or another, so that explains strange stuff at the launch window games.

It's not about being lazy. Launch games are almost always rushed, and the 3DS had significant hardware changes shortly before release. The next wave of games is likely to look and perform much better.

Like I said, either they haven't got a good feel for the hardware yet or are just lazy.

Wow, fucked that up. Copy/paste is a dangerous beast.
