A new surival horror title has been announced from the same developers that brought us Alone in the Dark. Darkworks have stated The game will be a whole new nightmare and is going to be a First Person Shooter named So far the only details we have on the game is that it will be taking place in an American town that gets swallowed by a mysterious fog,transforming the citizens into mutants.

The fog is going to play a huge role in the gameplay and change how players will navigate through the game. You will also be able to get creative and create your own chemical weapons, giving you the role to play god. Kill the people, or help them. Speed, fluidity and freedom are the main focus of the game.

The game is said to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 although no release date has been given as of yet.

One thing I will say is that Alone in the Dark has one of the best scores of any video game this generation, with music from the grammy winning Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir/Mystery of Bulgarian Voices.

Honestly I didn't think the game (at least the ps3 version, which supposedly fixed a lot of problems) was that bad, but I played with infinite ammo on sooo....

edit: oh wait, Darkworks did Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, not the 2008/2009 one on 360/ps3. Anyone ever play New Nightmare, is it any good?

Darkworks isn't a terrible studio, but not a particularly great one either. First screenshots don't look amazing either (ugh guns). Still... It's survival-horror so I'm interested anyway.

it was ok.. but not that good. cold fear, their other game, was much better. it's also a alone in the dark/resident evil clone.

I love Cold Fear. But I wish they would have done a Wii port and fixed the camera in the process. It was annoying having to hold down a button the whole time to get a continuous behind-the-character view.

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is a brilliant game, by the way. It looks and plays a lot like real Resident Evil, but that series was in turn based on the camera and mechanics of the first three Alone in the Dark games.

New Nightmare is a very underrated game imo. Its right up there among the greatest survival horrors of PS1-DC generation for me. The scare factor rivaled SH2 despite RE2-3 style action gameplay.

Would be nice if the guns had limited ammo like Condemned 1. Now that was fun first person survival.

Yay more survival horror

Darkworks isn't so bad - While Cold Fear was a so-so horror game, I really enjoyed Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare. I wish this wasn't a shooter though.
