So, hm... nothing to do, so looking for a nice anime to watch. Preferably not too kiddy and with good animation. Suggestions?

Its older, but I see Trigun on there if you haven't seen it. One of my favorites.
I was going to flippantly say Trigun because I think it's a good show with broad appeal to find it actually is on hulu. good stuff.

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit - First thing that popped into my head when you said not kiddy and good animation.

Gurren Lagann - Not mature, but it has a lot of spirit and endearing characters

Claymore - Mediocre until like Episode 4 or 5, but then it goes into awesome overdrive.

Monster - Good characters, unique setting and premise. One of the more mature series around

Mushi-shi

Queens Blade

LOL

You'll also find a lot of anime that are being simulcasted. Ao no Exorcist (The Blue Exorcist) is on there.

Well unless its a girl who doesn't want to risk virgin pregnancy via exposure to Kenshiro or a dude who doesn't want to grow a beard.

My virgin beard is now pregnant.

Here and there, now and then...something, something, I forget. Anyway, it's on Hulu and it's pretty good.

I want to recommend One Piece, but the first 20 or so episodes are a REALLY light hearted affair that would drive most people away from the anime. It's a shame, because after that 20 or so gap, the anime picks up and never lets up. It gets more and more serious, and the action gets better. Characters will get killed off, and there's a lot of weight behind what happens in the worlds government and power shift between the pirates and the Navy. It's a great adventure anime, and does a great job of making you give a shit about its characters the more and more the show pulls on. It has some humor thrown in too, but it's never too abrasive and makes you feel awkward about it.

If you are looking for something super serious though I remember Hulu had Death Note and Monster on there. Both are good picks in that regard.

I just watched the first episode and I'm off to shave my new beard. Ken went through, like, three shirts in one episode.
In all honesty, it seems like a pretty mediocre show, but I've only seen the first episode so I don't have enough basis to form a real opinion yet.

It gets better, but it takes a while to hit the sweet spot. That said you can just watch the movie for a digest version and insane ultra violence.

Oh boy, I was worried that might also happen.

No way, Monster is on Hulu? Fuck I've wanted to watch that for so long.

Now the question is: Dub or Sub?

I started it off on dub a long time ago and then I couldn't find dub versions once I reached a point, so I went to sub to finish the anime up. Towards the end of it I found some dub versions for episodes and figured great I could just watch and not read as well, so why not? It was a bit weird hearing the english dub voices again, because the japanese ones had done such a fantastic job to fit facial expressions.

My vote is for sub, even though there are some anime out there that I love in dub. (FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Champloo)

The Castle of Cagliostro.

Are there any other good feature length anime movies on Hulu? Not really interested in series.
I'm with this guy. I don't have time to sit throu "20 light episodes" to get to something quality. I think cowboy bebop was the only anime series I felt worth watching. Gurren laggan was particularly highly overrated.

I really like the dub cast myself. It's quite well done.

I'll watch the first episode subbed and then dubbed and see which I like more.

The manga was pretty good, and I hear the anime is faithful. My only big complaint was the amount of bullshit aspects of psychology in it.

NO ONE mentioned Death Note? Wow..............
In any case, these are what I would recommend (in order of importance):
Death Note: If you love mind games, suspense, and the like, this is for you. It has its points where it slows down but it picks back up shortly after. Really great and mature anime with a lot of surprising twists and it'll keep you on the edge of your seat. Do know that Hulu only has subs though so if you want to watch it with English dubbing you may want to try out sites like justdubs.net.

Monster: The anime is 74 or so episodes long so be ready to invest time. It's somewhat slow to start but once you're well into the anime, the interest develops significantly and it lasts to the very end. Despite the cliffhanger ending, it's one of the best anime in regards to plot and character development.

Soul Eater: It takes some time to set up as the first few episodes introduce the characters. It gets pretty intense in the later episodes. Great mix of comedy, friendship, action, and adventure.

Gurren Laggan: If you like action, adventure, epic battles, themes on dystopia and utopia, etc. then definitely try this out. Character development is also really great because the second half of the anime feels completely different from the first half. Not gonna spoil anything, though.

Trigun: GREAT action, fast-paced battles, good comedy, and brilliant execution. It's art style may feel dated but the anime itself is really great.

That's also on Hulu?
ADD that to my list above. Very tragic and very emotional anime. Now and Then, Here and There is definitely one of my most favorites.
