I most likely will not go.

However!

If you guys and girls (lol) decide to hit up a bar or something afterward one of those days, I might make a trek down from Scarborough and show you how well dreads work on drunk white girls.

I'll be at Fan Expo on Saturday and I'll be in Toronto on both weekend days. I may be leaving earlier in the day on Sunday, so a Saturday night meetup at a pub or something would work best I think.

If anyone wants to meet up on Friday I'm down. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make it on Saturday =(

I might play Vita if there aren't too many lines. Not really for the games (since none interest me), but just to get my hands on it.

Thanks for the thread!

As I've done since 2001, I'll be there all weekend. Look forward to it every year, and can't fathom skippin' it if I lived anywhere in Ontario. Always fun times!

Will be rockin' the GAF shirts at least two of the days, representin

I'm for sure going on friday and may be wearing this closet cosplay.
Did you post on Square Gamer?

Someone needs to take charge of this event and pick a specific place to meet.

I'm still not too sure if I'm even going yet.

Yea, same username.

If I'm chilling at a booth it'll probably be AnimeXtreme's.

Wow, SG brings back so many memories. I lurked most of the time but I remember a few users from there.

Wow, SG? Man, I used to be there all the time, as well as many of its spinoffs and newer iterations (sg2k, sqp, wf, FB, etc)

I've purchased a Deluxe Pass (which has yet to arrive via mail - I paid extra) and have Wednesday-Monday booked off from work although I have not made hotel arrangements and I'm currently looking for excuses not to go (i.e. two fantasy football drafts on Saturday, Xenoblade, aforementioned absence of crash space, lack of ticket arrival).

My usual group booked their hotel without me and I'm kind of bitter about it. Plus, there's stuff I want to hit on Thursday and if I miss out on that I sort of want to pass on the con the whole weekend.

In short, I'm being silly and indecisive. My roommate is hitting up PAX Prime the same weekend which also has me bitter.

I request cosplay photos be taken and posted in this thread. They are always entertaining.

I have a new DSLR but I always feel creepy taking those kinds of pics.

I remember it having a large group from Toronto. I never went to any of the meet-ups though. I left around SG2K. I recall Lord Golbez, Rinoa and some troll named Chris Ramsey.

The FF9, 10, 11 annoucement was an epic day.

I have a deluxe pass, so I'll most likely be there for at least 3 of the 4 days. I'll try for all 4, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Like I said on the Toronto OT, I'm down for a meetup on whichever days.

We could have a GAF lunch on Thursday before it opens at 4PM.

I picked up a ticket for Saturday. I'm hoping the crowds aren't too terrible.

Haven't they expanded the show floor to both major halls this year? Hmm, I may just go with a Deluxe Pass. I'll grab one tonight. Thursday evening will be dedicated to grabbing my actual pass.

The entrance free is too expensive for me to justify, so I doubt I'll be going.

I was never a member of SG, but at one time I had some friends who were.

Rinoa: You're not related to Silver, are you?

Ok, bought a Deluxe Pass. Somebody setup a meet.

When are most Gaffers going?

Edit: It's good to see we can finally pick up our passes in advance of the show.

Thank the gods.

I was staff at SG and FFO. FFO is dead but a new incarnation is in the works called FFSociety (FFS!). Went to a few of the SGTO meetups and but since then had normal hangouts since some of us are close friends. The SGVAN stuff looked more crazy.

Square Millennium. Dems was the days. Squaresoft had such a bright future.

On thursday I'll only be able to pick up passes for myself and my coworkers but I dunno if I'll go in. Is there something good happening?

Nope, my older brother and his friend own AnimeXtreme. I work at indigo home office.

Yeah I am. Are you customer at his store?

Thursday at 4pm would be a little too early for me. I plan to work till 4:30 that day. I only work a half day on Friday, so I'm finished at 1pm. Might try to sneak out at noon on that day. Picking up passes in advance is a god-send.

I haven't fully checked the schedule, so I have no idea. I'll look over the schedule again.

I only recently discovered AnimeXtreme via the Toronto-Age thread and go there for the wall of Gundams. Brother and friend? Guessing the guy and the girl, or are there more employees there?

Indigo home office? I work at Chapters. Nice, haha.

I was, long, long ago. I used to go to the AX showings, actually.

I just recognised your name because a few of my friends, like Reno, knew you.

Ah cool. I worked on the website during the AX showings and only really went to a few UfT ones, not so much the Bloor ones.

It's owned by my brother Silver (guy in sunglasses) and his friend Rob (athletic chinese guy). Anything female is a part time hire, there seem to be a lot of employees.

Yea there was a firedrill this morning at home office with free icecreams, it's a great workplace. Which store are you? I just went to the Richmond one to buy a gaiam yoga mat w/employee disc during lunch.

Damn, tickets are way more expensive than I expected. I was planning to go on Saturday, but now I'm not so sure.

If you gaffers want to hang out 'afterwards' or grab a bite or drink or something, I'd rather do that. Last few times I went, it REALLY sucked :(

Yeah, I just got my GAF shirts today. It looks like they dropped the anime film screening part though - and that makes sense, since it seemed to have bombed hard last year. Too bad.

Ill be picking my pass on Thursday, will scout the area and memorize where everything is. Fri, Sat and Sun ill be there fullforce with a wallet full of money and bag full of comics to get signed.

GAF meet up?

I'm still unsure about going considering what happened last year, but I hear theres more space this time?

If I go I'd want to check out the dealers room so most likely Saturday/Sunday for me.

Fortunately that banner has been on their site for over a month now.

I still haven't purchased tickets.

I don't know. I'm just really soured on the whole thing in addition to a mediocre guest list, having to fork over more cash for the trip. At this point I'd rather just visit Toronto / Markham for the weekend and come home than go to the con.

Just an FYI, my ticket says you can pickup your passes in advance:

Tuesday August 23rd: 11:00AM - 7:00 PM South Building Main Entrance
Wednesday August 24th: 11:00am - 8:00 PM South Building Main Entrance

I'm probably going to pick up my ticket on Wednesday so that I can just walk in on Thursday.

I didn't like last years.

It seemed disorganised, The line management was horrible. The people who bought day of got in faster then the people who prepurchased or did the Rogers ticketless thing. The merchants were great but they aren't worth paying $35 for. Everything else sucked.

Really? We can just walk in if we buy tickets online and pick them up on tues/wed?

Last year was a fucking travesty. The lines were STUPID long, even if you bought them online beforehand. 3 hours of waiting... unbelievable.

Ernest Borgnine! >:|

Doug Mahnke! >:O

Last year had better guests, and I didn't have my stupid passport.

I'm kind of interested in getting my hands on Twisted Metal at the Sony booth and am hoping Starhawk will be there.
