This anime is so good we need one


No manga spoilers please
 
havent read it since the beginning of the fairy island arc. did it get any better?

only thing i remember about the anime was just how low budget it was. such poor animation yikes
 
I should give the anime a shot. Had the first three manga volumes that I enjoyed, then I picked up 4 , 7-12 at a Borders closing a few months ago. I've been so lazy / cheap I never picked up 5 or 6 so I haven't been able to read much of the manga.

Only reason I tried it was because it looked like One Piece. No where near as good in my opinion but still enjoyable.
 
Fairy Tail is one of the few animes and manga that could me me laugh so hard.

The soundtrack in particular is just amazing. I can't wait for the start of the S Class Arc.
 
Objectively, Fairy Tail is just a tad bit better than Naruto and Bleach but the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously at all makes it 1000x better.

OP and Beelzebub reign supreme though.

I LOVE the Groove Adventure Rave manga. It's one of my favorite series of all time.

I only read the Fairy Tail manga. Sorry, guys.

I love this manga. It's all about the power of nakama to an almost sickening degree, but the themes of friendship and perseverance are touching. I like that the arcs are much shorter than the big three shonen series, as well.

Don't watch the anime though. Is there an official stream for it?

Use to watch it on Funimation but they only have up to 25 eps I think and we're currently 97 eps in.
 
Watched a couple episodes and enjoyed it. However these types of series are WAY too long for me to follow them. I can barely finish a 12 episoder now let alone hundreds.
 
I got up until the part in the manga where
the evil twin guy makes some giant nuke blast some magic absorption tower.

Then I just lost all interest in the series.
 
I'm mad that Rave never got a proper anime ending, on the other hand the manga's ending was amazing.

On the topic of Fairy Tail I only watch/read it for the boobs. Mainly Lucy's because mmmm blonde.
 
They butchered this anime horribly, slideshow fights,censored,stupid magic runes and terrible designs. The only thing good is the ost.
 
I like the humor in it, but the fights leaves a lot to be desired. It all boils down to typical "friends GIVE ME STRENGTH".

Music is awesome though.
 
No, really, someone tell me what's so good about Fairy Tale? I actually read a couple of chapters of the manga and it was ok, but nothing really grabbed me. I think I read the first 2 volumes or something like that. I would definitely give it another chance if you can convince me. Been looking for something else to read anyway.
 
Still wish this show was later in the day so it got less censor stuff.

Doesn't hurt to have more blood and... fanservice.

Wish the show had more of a budget as well. Some of the cheapest looking OP and ED in modern anime =/

simple plot, simple motives, simple characters.

Ridiculous pace. Everything just rolls from 1 fight to another.

Simple mindless fun, which imo is losing steam about now.

I thought it feels fresh and Mashima keeps things unpredictable. Although his character designs really pay homage to his previous work and look similar (well even in Monster Hunter Orange, one can tell its him...), his artistry over attacks and design is pretty cool. I found most of the characters interesting and the magic is cool. The story is simple, fun, and enjoyable, and often, an emotional rollercoaster, and if one keeps their expectations in check it can easily be on par with the other popular series in its genre.

Do you like Shonen?

It's, like, the most average Shonen. Whether that's bad or good is up to you.
 
I bought the first book long ago but never read it. I also watched the first episode of the anime, but I don't remember much of anything. I've been looking for something new to get into, so I've re-bought the first book based on the recommendations here. I love One Piece, so I hope this is atleast somewhat decent.
 
I noticed this manga when I was starting to lose a bit of my free time so I didn't have as much time for leisure activities. One Piece is pretty much the only anime/manga I habitually follow now and the art style of this caught my attention cause I thought it similar but I never followed up on this, only really remembering this now from this thread, I have no real expectations of it but I'll look into it

Elfman: Christopher Sabat

Im just glad Elfman managed to not sound exactly like Zoro/Kurogane. Overall I think its pretty decent.
 
Besides Gildart looking like shanks, I don't see the One Piece similarities. Then again, anytime Fairy Tail does seem like it's imitating one of the big three they're usually trolling. Like when Grey marked on Natsu's face to look like Naruto. (whiskers and dark eye sockets). Or recently, when Natsu did mass kage bunshin. lol Outside of that, it's pretty tame. Anyway, I enjoy the series and the short 10-20 ep arcs.
 
i sneaked in the comic con event
and saw some episode and loved them

and i took pics with that red head chick and natsu cosplayers!

lol
