EA released Tiger Woods 12 last week and it's a very shoddy port:

On Tuesday EA released Tiger Woods 12: The Masters for the PC and Mac. It was the first Tiger Woods game for PC since 2008 and myself and many others I knew were excited for its release.

That's a link to the forums discussing the game (It's to the TWO forums, but most of the discussion is about the newly released game). EA had blatantly lied to its entire consumer base by promising multiple features that were not included in the game itself.
The only multiplayer available is through an expensive online service called Tiger Woods Online and the single player is nearly non-existent. To purchase clothing or equipment upgrades for your character, you are forced to spend actual money with no work around.
EA receives most of its hate for it's decisions with larger games, but this is just another reason why EA is quite possibly one of the worst game companies ever to exist.
EDIT: Another thing to mention.
The graphics are awful. Picture 1 --- Picture 2
That's on maximum settings at the highest resolution the game supports.
A console port to the PC was all that was expected. Instead, EA decided to strip out more than half of the key features and only managed to add a cash shop.
EDIT2:
This is not Tiger Woods Online, a browser F2P micro transaction game that was release a year or two ago. This game was advertised as a brand new game with a hefty price tag of $40.

EDIT3:
It appears that about half of the posts in the forums are being removed by moderators. This is quite obviously a poor attempt to censor the board to prevent bad things about the game from being posted.
EDIT4:
Because I'm really tired of posting the same things over and over again:
Yes, people actually buy these games. I own an upright arcade cabinet with a trackball and these games are extremely fun with a few people crowded around the machine.
I'm not going to "go outside and play real golf." That shit costs a lot of money that I don't have. I also can't cheaply and easily share the fun of golf with my friends and family if I don't do it virtually.
I don't have any other choices for PC golf games. EA is the only company that makes them and I only play them on PC because of my trackball setup.
There were no reviews for this game when I purchased it. I got a refund.

A post on reddit has cast some light on an issue that many people may have otherwise been unaware of.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters was released as a full $40 PC title on Tuesday. The game, however, is marred with hidden charges and missing features. The single-player modes are apparently uncannily similar to Tiger Woods Online, a free-to-play game released two years ago and there are some notable discrepancies between the advertised features and the in-game reality, as a review at truepcgaming.com reveals.
Before we get into the meat of the review, the issue of advertised features by EA need to be addressed first. The following is taken directly from EAs main Tiger Woods 12 page:
Some of the new features:
Masters Moments Tiger at the Masters The Caddie Experience All New Career Mode New Players New Championship Courses
After 7 hours of gameplay, I have yet to see a caddie. After a doing a little research by visiting various forums and watching YouTube clips, I finally found out the caddie feature is only available in the console versions of the game. As you can read for yourself, there is no distinction listed between PC and console platforms.
The rest of the review makes for equally doleful reading; broken distance projection, incorrect stats and significant graphical downgrades compared with the previous versions do nothing to make up for the game's shortcomings.
In an additional twist, the multiplayer component of the game is a three-month subscription to Tiger Woods Online, where upgrades are only attainable via microtransaction.
While the annoying issues surrounding a golf game may have nary an affect on the majority of us, the fact that EA would be so misleading and exploitative (at worst) or careless (at best) of a new PC release is alarming - especially at a time when you might imagine they'd be putting every effort toward shoring up consumer trust.
