As for the topic. Japan being japan I guess. I still fail to see how there is a market for this even in Japan.
 
Just eat a handful of nuts, a bowl of soup and a vitamin D supplement every day. That should improve your diet a great deal.

A lot of people can't convert Beta Carotene into Vitamin A.

If your on a low fat diet, no conversion for you.
If you have gallbladder problems, no conversion for you.
It you are diabetic, no conversion for you.
etc.
etc.

Also, If you smoke, you shouldn't be taking Beta Carotene anyways.
