Given that this is Capcom, I don't want to say for sure this is a game.

Frank West packing for "my new adventure".

Capcom has teased a new Dead Rising game.

A post on the Dead Rising Facebook page suggests the mystery new game stars photojournalist Frank West, the protagonist of the first Dead Rising and spin-off Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.

The post reads: "I'm getting packing for my new adventure - camera, notebook and baseball bat. What else would i need for a break in paradise? - Frank"

Could Dead Rising 3 be set for a Spike Video Game Awards reveal at the weekend only two months after the launch of Off the Record? Or is another downloadable Dead Rising game similar to Case West in the works?

Off the Record was unnecessary, and just diluted the series. If this indeed DR3, I hope it goes back to using Capcom's own engine, and lose the controller lag from DR2. I love the series, but the boss fights need to be fixed.

Cool. Guess i'll ask this here. I want to start this series but don't have a 360 atm. Is it ok if I jump straight to 2? Which one the sequals is better and which should I play first (if both are necessary)? Thanks.

I would not be too surprised if Capcom at some point did release some kind of Wii U upgraded port of first two games, since Wii was the only current gen home-console not enough performing to run the game decently.

Edit: wow, what a nice unexpected surprise, I've just found out I'm a proper member now, thank you GAF!

Dead Rising 3DS.

Hmm, a 3D version would be really nice indeed, but unfortunately Wii port of the first game turned out to be so awful; not enough horsepower to handle all those zombies together, so they had to tone it down to such an extent it didn't make any sense, so I regret to say if Wii couldn't make it, neither 3DS can.

Was Dead Rising 2 any good?

I love the first one but still haven't got around to the second.

Dead Rising 2 was my GotY last year ....yes beating the likes of RDR, etc.

I LOOOVE it

Still haven't checked out Off the Record as yeah, it just feels tainted

I want a DR3, but I'm very afraid of it being dumbed down for the masses even more than it has already.

Still DR2 was fucking amazing (also my goty 2010 and I played a LOT of games) so I'll try to have faith.

I think it's too son for DR3. I'm a huge Capcom fan and skipped Off the Record, because considered it as barely an expensive DLC.

Announce Onimusha 5, RE6, Strider 3 and a new IP first, please.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

Capcom presents: Dead Rising: Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

Now you can play as cross-dressing Frank West in a tropical paradise playing volleyball with zombies!

"I'VE COVERED SPORTS, YA KNOW!?" (Spike! Whack! Zombie appears on camera with a volleyball mark on their face)

Dead Rising: XBV only for X-box 360.

bad gameplay lol
So much hate for Off the Record. :( I'm playing through it right now and love it (and yes, I played and beat vanilla DR2 as well). I actually like it much more than vanilla DR2. Chuck was an okay character, but I really do like Frank more. Plus Sandbox Mode is what I always wanted from a Dead Rising game. That alone was worth the price of admission.

Well that's kind of a shame.

Good to hear that it's better overall, though. I'll check it out.

Dead Rising was unfairly difficult, DR2 and OTR have the right amount of difficulty, it's not piss easy by any stretch of the imagination.

Dr was not unfairly difficult it just needed to be played a certain way for maximum effectiveness. It is still possible to save all the victims and go through the overtime with a brand new level 1 character. Bring on more dead rising, it was probably my most played title of 2010.

Eh. I thought it was pretty tame, all things considered.

Then again, I liked the save system too, so...

If you get it, I'd suggest playing it in coop. Moments like this become much funnier when playing with a friend: http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/d...s/DR/dr2-3.jpg
:lol

Does anyone even play it anymore? Finding someone to play with might prove a challenge in and of itself.

First we have to analyze what West's paradise might be. Maybe it's a pornographic project?

Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 are two of the most chronically under-appreciated games of this generation. More zombies, Capcom!

Maybe this is about Case West and Case Zero finally coming to PS3?

We at least do know Blue Castle (now Capcom Vancouver) is still fully functional and more than likely hatching something new, but couldn't say anything about it.
DR2 was personally one of my top 10 games of the generation. They're also really the only zombie games I get truly hyped for.
