I thought I'd mention it to all of the Song of Ice and Fire fans here that the first season of Game of Thrones is $34.99 on Amazon.

For anyone that knows anything at all about HBO releases, they usually don't get cheaper than this.

It might worth mentioning that is a pre-order with a March 6th release. It's obvious at the Amazon page, but still...

Anyway, I don't know much about the show and didn't even finish the first book, but I'll probably rent this when it is released.

Now if only HBO would do a Season Pass or sell the individual episodes while they are being aired. Fucking ridiculous to have to pay over $100 every month in order to legally watch their programs while they are being aired.

I was lucky enough to get this set early and it is fantastic. The picture quality, sound, the special features, everything is top notch. $35 is a steal.

I think it's because it is a popular series that is expected to sell really well, so a bunch of retailers are doing what they can to swing the bulk of the sales their way. Hence the low prices, exclusive covers, free keychains, bonus discs, etc.

HBO Store only, I believe. And of course you get to pay retail, with maybe a 20% off coupon for content that will be on Youtube the next day.
