Sony's press conference should start any moment now, but Verge and Engadget doesn't mention it yet.

HTC starting in 3 hours.

Ewww, the google guy made the thread. No wonder about the lack of a witty line in the title. Something like "The Android phone/tablet you just bought is already obsolete" would've been more appropriate.

Thank you for making the thread <3

Samsung is the only company here that has released an interesting phone within the past year or so. And they are rumored to only show tablets so meh. Still very interested to see what is shown.

can't wait for the 29th and Windows 8. The days seem to be going slower and slower as we get closer.

This phablet trend is pretty shit.

Is this really the schedule for the conferences? In Barcelona it's 08:00PM right now. I thought it started tomorrow!

Is that really Lenovo's fault? And how would the Samsung be better?

Well obviously it depends on the execution, but from what I've played with on the original Note, the wacom digitizer is superior to the ntrig on on the wacom. I'm also hoping for better palm rejection and a better rooting situation. Plus the thinkpad is pretty heavy, I wouldn't mind something lighter. It'll be a while before this Note comes out, so it'll give me time to see how the thinkpad is when ICS finally comes out on it in May, but I doubt that will fix most of my problems with the device.

EDIT: In the end, I'll probably just wait for a win 8 tablet to come out. But that raises a whole new set of problems.

Well we did get root on the Thinkpad recently. Instead of buying another android tablet with a pen, I would wait for cheaper Windows 8 tablets with real Wacom pens.

Can I have you elaborate on this, please? I'm just curious to see how you feel on W8.

I want Asus to come out with a tablet that is basically a transformer prime with a stylus. Am I asking for too much?

I'd like to thank Sony for still making new 3.5" and 4" phones. I dig 720p screens as much as anyone else, but I think a lot of these newer phones are pushing it in pocketability.

Well we sort of got it. It only works on half the thinkpads for some reason. I'm just saying the development community behind the tablet is kind of small, and combined with Lenovo's lockdown of the thing, it doesn't give you very many options if you want to install custom stuff on it.

Well the biggest problem is deciding between WOA or x86. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. I would probably prefer WOA because I don't need a full desktop on my tablet, but on the other hand, I''ll have to wait for when/if programs get ported over. Hopefully this is made easier when these tablets get fully revealed.

yeah, Samsung is usually a better rooting situation because of Odin and them releasing kernel source before their devices release.

I know how you feel. I decided on x86, as long as battery life isn't horrible.

WOA might be something to consider more seriously a year or so after W8 drops, give it some time to mature. My opinion at least.

Yeah the xperia P looks hot, though it's a little disappointing they didn't have 4.0 ready at launch.

Wacom digitizer and no shitty tegra 2 will elevate the note 10.1 over the thinkpad tablet :/

I knew Sony bought the remaining part of SE, but man is it strange to see no more SE phones in the future. I always like SE as a brand, it felt quite different from the rest of Sony.

Xperia U looks weird though, doesn't seem to be better than my Ray in any way.
