Michigan/Arizona GOP Primaries 2012: Are the trees tall enough to survive a surge?

Polls close at 9PM ET for the Michigan primary. Romney is expected to win big in AZ so I expect that to be called for him ass soon as polls close there. The real meat tonight is Michigan where Romney (fairly or unfairly) is supposed to have a 'home' state advantage.

Santorum on the other hand had alot of momentum following his triple win from MN, MO and especially CO a couple weeks back. Santorum being Santorum, he couldn't help but speak so his momentum had been eroding the past week but latest polls show he might be regaining some of it.

Good choice for the title. :) This'll probably be a repeat of iowa with romney just barely winning. Who knows though.

Edit: In michigan I mean.

Cracking up watching the Dem talking head on Hardball trying to justify mischief voters going out for Santorum saying 'If a Republican wants to win in November, they are going to need Democrat votes.'.

Please Santorum win, PLEASE

the ensuing comedy would be for the ages

Romney will win Michigan by around 3-4% and slowly continue to roll to the nomination. The media has to keep extending this otherwise they lose out on free shit to cover without much work.

From a UK perspective I'm enjoying watching the rise of Santorum all over America.

How long will this madness go on!

that's pretty much my prediction for how this primary race ends up. Then republicans just half heartedly just deal with the reality romeny is there guy

Santorum's campaign manager was on MSNBC today saying exactly the same thing. I believe Santorum's campaign is where that talking point originates.

Also, Republicans have no room to bitch about this, with their own de facto party leader spearheading "Operation Chaos" in 08.

Whoo Al Sharpton on MSNBC, brilliant analysis sure to follow.

EDIT: 'Former Presidential candidate, Al Sharpton' per MSNBC

It's a pretty sickening manipulation of the system no matter who does it. Did Rush's little scheme in 08' have an impact on any states?

Well played, titiklabingapat.

Yup, same.

Gingrich currently talking about a tree that isn't the right height.

Are you all getting CNN US or CNN International? Last I watched, CNN international seemed more like a news channel while CNN US was taking a middle ground between two dumbasses and watching them fight.

What is Newt babbling on about

profound....blah blah blah...fundamental difference....blah blah blah...conservative coalition...blah blah blah..reagan....blah.

I'm watching mythbusters on netflix, but I'm guessing it's that?

It's CNN US, Wolf Blitzer and the rest of the posse.

Santorum 41%
Romney 36%
Paul 12%
Gingrich 7%

SURGE

Ooooh, where's this from? EDIT: On CNN now. This is going to be an interesting night!
