I know there were some threads about this earlier, but new news, right? I've got the Dreamcast version preordered; anyone else?

I would love to know if this is any good. If it is, I would totally invest in the Neo Geo AES version.

Yikes 319 euro for the MVS version, I can appreciate the work and expense involved in custom manufacturing carts, but holy crap thats expensive.

Retro Magazine here in Germany had a pretty big article about this game in the last issue. It sounds and looks pretty sweet. And yeah the Turrican comparisons are quite right.

If only I had a Dreamcast...

looks like i may need to dust off the old DC.
cant beleive it still works lol

One of my favorite systems ever , memory card = unmatched

Dreamcast version and a steak dinner or AES version and putting off health insurance for a few months.....

These are the hard decisions.

I paid $20 for mine, but I didn't have to drive out of town or order it online.

Of course, then I discovered that the video cable that came with it was broke. So now I'm waiting for it to arrive today :(

Hopefully that's a VGA box, right? Right?

If you like R-Type, you'll most likely enjoy Pink Bullets, and if you like Mars Matrix you'll most likely enjoy Fast Striker.

Very good summary. There are some good videos on YouTube if you want more information. The prices in that newcomer bundle are quite a deal compared to eBay prices.

HOLY WHAT!
I thought the NeoGeo finally died in 2003 or 2004. Boy, am I glad it's still on life support :)

EDIT: That trailer has such a great Turrican feel to it.

Someone on another forum pointed out that the shmup section at the end of the trailer is a very close copy of Strite (first level) from Thunder Force IV / Lightening Force. Very cool!

I've been itchin' to get a new MVS game, but that price seems a bit steep. Off topic, but does anyone know where I can purchase some empty shock boxes for my MVS carts?

Hopefully that's a VGA box, right? Right?

No, just standard third party AV cables. I *WANTED* to get a VGA Box, but I have no place to hook it up to that right now.

On the flipside, used copies of Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure 2 are coming with said cables and should arrive Soon (tm).

Looks stellar---I really hope the SpeedDemosArchive folks get ahold of this for the Dreamcast or some such as it looks like it would make for some epic time attacks and whatnot same as Turrican, Rendering Ranger, etc.

Will look into this. Remember thinking Pink Bullets looked interesting at the time. Always up for more Dreamcast games.

Yeah, and Pink Bullets is the version of Last Hope that is actually playable (original version was super frustrating; could never see what killed you). Fast Striker isn't as famous because it wasn't the first, but it's more of a bullet-hell shooter that's very fun, with great music.

I'm so tempted to get this. I've had my eye on it since it was originally shown but told myself I'm done buying for Dreamcast. But it looks so good.

I thought Last Hope was pretty crappy and that spinoff game DUX was god-awful, but Fast Striker isn't too bad (although it is quite ugly) and this game looks pretty fun.

I don't know why they don't release this stuff on Steam. I mean, there's nothing stopping them from releasing on all these platforms at once; half the people that buy these legacy releases are only doing so so they can flip 'em on Ebay later on anyway.
